Mini Cupcake Toppings One

MATERIALS:
Yarns:
Double knitting/light worsted yarn
Small amounts of double knitting/light worsted yarn, in colors of choice

 

Hooks & Notions:
Size 3.50mm Hook
Yarn needle
Stitch marker
GAUGE:
22sts x 30 rows = 10 x 10cm
Tension/Gauge is not necessary for this project to be perfect
I use US Crochet stitch terminology

INSTRUCTIONS

Whipped Butter Icing Cupcake:
This part is made by working in continuous rounds, so you may want to use a stitch marker to keep record of your current rnd.
Rnd 1: With yarn, CH 2. Work 6 SC in second CH from hook. Place a stitch marker in the last SC to designate the end of the rnd.
Work in the back loops for the next 4 rnds:
Rnd 2: Work 2 SC in each ST around (12 SC). MM
Rnd 3: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next ST. Repeat from * around (18 SC). MM
Rnd 4: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in each of the next two STS.  Repeat from * around (24 SC). MM
Rnd 5: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in each of the next three STS. Repeat from * around (30 SC). MM
Rnd 6: Turn and continue to work in back loops. 2 SC in first back loop, *skip ST, work 2 SC in next ST. Repeat from * all the way to the beginning. FO and pull tail through the center.
Strawberry Cream Cupcake:
Cream:
With yarn, CH 61, work 4 SC in 2nd CH from hook, *skip a ST, work 4 SC in next ST. Repeat from * until last ST SL ST. FO and leave tail for sewing onto cupcake.
This part is made by working in continuous rounds, so you may want to use a stitch marker to keep record of your current rnd.
Strawberry:
Rnd 1: With yarn, CH 2. Work 5 SC in second CH from hook.
Place a stitch marker in the last SC to designate the end of the rnd.
Rnd 2: Work 2 SC in first ST and SC around (6 SC).MM
Rnd 3: Work 2 SC in each ST around (12 SC). MM
Rnd 4 – 5: SC in each ST around (12 SC). MM
Rnd 6: *DECR across first two STS. Repeat from * around (6 SC). FO
Lightly stuff to form shape.
Leaf: With yarn, CH 4. Work 2 SC across and SL ST in first CH. *CH 3. Work 2 SC across and SL ST in first CH. Repeat from * three times more. FO and attach to strawberry.
‘99’ Ice Cream Cupcake:
This part is made by working in continuous rounds, so you may want to use a stitch marker to keep record of your current rnd.
Rnd 1: With yarn, CH 2. Work 6 SC in second CH from hook. Place a stitch marker in the last SC to designate the end of the rnd.
Work in the back loops for the next 4 rnds:
Rnd 2: Work 2 SC in each ST around (12 SC). MM
Rnd 3: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next ST. Repeat from * around (18 SC). MM
Rnd 4: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in each of the next two STS.  Repeat from * around (24 SC). MM
Rnd 5: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in each of the next three STS. Repeat from * around (30 SC). MM
Rnd 6: Turn and continue to work in back loops.
4 SC in first back loop, *skip ST, work 4 SC in next ST. Repeat from * all the way to the beginning. FO and pull tail through the center.
For the finishing touch:
Embroider French knots in assorted colors onto the icing.
Choc Flake:
With yarn, CH 10, 1SC in second CH from hook, *SC in each ST (9 SC), CH 1, turn. Repeat from * 4 times (5 rows) FO Roll up to form Flake, glue or sew.
Butterfly Cupcake:
Wings: Make 2
Row 1: With yarn, CH 10. Work 1 SC in second CH from hook, HTR in next ST, DC in next 2 STS, DTR in next ST, DC in next 2 STS, HTR in next ST, SC in next ST. FO and leave tail for sewing.
Flower Icing: 
This part is made by working in continuous rounds, so you may want to use a stitch marker to keep record of your current rnd.
Rnd 1: With yarn, CH 2. Work 6 SC in second CH from hook. Place a stitch marker in the last SC to designate the end of the rnd.
Rnd 2: Work 2 SC in each ST around (12 SC). MM
Rnd 3: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next ST. Repeat from * around (18 SC). MM
Rnd 4: *Work 1 SC, HTR in next ST, and 2 DC in next ST, HTR, SC in next. Repeat from * five more times. FO and leave tail for sewing.
Attach wings to flower icing and sew icing onto cupcake.
Sew or glue toppings onto cupcakes.
