INSTRUCTIONS

Basic Head and Body:
This part is made by working in continuous rounds, so you may want to use a stitch marker to keep record of your current rnd.

Head:
With animal color yarn: CH 2.
Rnd 1: Work 6 SC in second CH from hook. Place a stitch marker in the last SC to designate the end of the rnd.
Rnd 2: Work 2 SC in each ST around (12 SC). MM
Rnd 3: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next ST. Repeat from * around (18 SC). MM
Rnd 4: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in each of the next two STS. Repeat from * around (24 SC). MM
Rnd 5: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in each of the next three STS. Repeat from * around (30 SC). MM
Rnd 6 – 12: SC in each ST around (30 SC). MM
Rnd 13: DECR across first two STS, *DECR across next two STS. Repeat from * around (15 SC). MM
Rnd 14: *DECR across first two STS and SC in next three STS. Repeat from * around (12 SC). MM
Rnd 15: SC in each ST around (12 SC). MM
Push fiberfill through opening until the head is sufficiently stuffed.

Neck:
Rnd 16: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next five STS. Repeat from * around (14 SC).
Rnd 17: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next six STS. Repeat from * around (16 SC).
Rnd 18: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next seven STS. Repeat from * around (18 SC).
Rnd 19 – 20: SC in each ST around (18 SC). MM

Body:
Rnd 21: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next two STS. Repeat from * around (24 SC). MM
Rnd 22: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next three STS. Repeat from * around (30 SC).
Rnd 23 – 30: SC in each ST around (30 SC). MM
Rnd 31: For this rnd only work in the back loops, *SC2tog and work 1 SC in next three STS. Repeat from * around (24 SC). MM
Rnd 32: *SC2tog and work 1 SC in next two STS. Repeat from * around (18 SC). MM
Rnd 33: *SC2tog and work 1 SC in next ST. Repeat from * around (12 SC). MM
Push fiberfill through opening until the body is sufficiently stuffed.
Rnd 34: *SC2tog. Repeat from * around (6 SC). FO and weave tail through center and pull out at the neck to flatten bottom.

Giraffe
Work Basic Head & Body in Yellow Yarn

Ears: (Make Two)
With Yellow yarn, CH 2
Rnd 1: Work 6 SC in second CH from hook, turn
Rnd 2: CH 1, Work 2 SC in each ST, turn (12 SC)
Rnd 3: CH 1, SC in next five STS, work 2 SC in next two STS, SC in last five STS (14 SC) FO and fold ear in half at ends of rows and sew in place.

Horns: (Make Two)
With Brown yarn, CH 2
This part is made by working in continuous rounds, so you may want to use a stitch marker to keep record of your current rnd.
Rnd 1: Work 6 SC in second CH from hook.
Rnd 2: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next two STS. Repeat from * once (8 SC). MM

Rnd 4: Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in each of the next four STS. Repeat from * once (12 SC) FO and stuff lightly and sew in place. Embroider with black straight STS for nose and mouth.

Eyes: (Make Two)
With White yarn, CH 2
Rnd 1: Work 6 SC in second CH from hook. FO and sew in place. Embroider with black French knots in the center.

Mane:
With Brown yarn, CH 16
SL ST in second CH from hook, *CH 3 SL ST in next ST, SL ST in next ST. Repeat from * six more times. FO and attach to back of head and neck.

Spots: (Make Six)
With Brown yarn, CH 2
Rnd 1: Work 6 SC in second CH from hook. FO and sew one spot on each side of face for cheeks, scatter other spots around body.
Weave in all ends

Elephant
Work Basic Head & Body in Blue Yarn

Ears: (Make Two)
With Blue yarn, CH 2
This part is made by working in continuous rounds, so you may want to use a stitch marker to keep record of your current rnd.
Rnd 1: Work 6 SC in second CH from hook. Place a stitch marker in the last SC to designate the end of the rnd.
Rnd 2: Work 2 SC in each ST around (12 SC). MM
Rnd 3: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next ST. Repeat from * around (18 SC). MM
Rnd 4: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in each of the next two STS. Repeat from * around (24 SC).

Rnd 2: For this rnd only work in the back loops.

Rnd 3 – 6: SC in each ST around (6 SC). MM
Rnd 7: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next ST. Repeat from * around (9 SC). MM
Rnd 8 – 9: Work HDC in next 6 STS, SL ST in last 3 STS
Rnd 10: Work HDC in next 6 STS, SL ST in last 3 STS. FO and lightly stuff thick part of trunk. Sew in place.

Eyes: (Make Two)
With White yarn, CH 2
Rnd 1: Work 6 SC in second CH from hook. FO and sew in place. Embroider with black French knots in the center.

Lion
Work Basic Head & Body in Beige Yarn

The mane is worked up in four parts and then separately sewed to the head.
Front and Back Mane: (Make Two)
With Dark Brown yarn, CH 26
Work 1SC, 1HDC, 1SC in second CH from hook, *skip ST, 1SC in next, skip ST, work (1SC, 1HDC, 1SC) in next ST. Repeat from * until end. FO and leave a tail for sewing

Middle Mane:
With Yellow yarn, CH 26
Work 1SC, 1HDC, 1DC, 1HDC, 1SC in second CH from hook, *skip ST, 1SC in next, skip ST, work (1SC, 1HDC, 1DC, 1HDC, 1SC) in next ST. Repeat from * until end. FO and leave a tail for sewing. Sew all three strips onto head, use image as guide.

Looped Stitch Mane:
With Dark Brown yarn, CH 12
Row 1: Work loop stitch across (12 loops), turn
Row 2: CH 1, SC across ( 12 SC), turn
Repeat these two rows 4 more times. 10 rows in total (5 rows loops and 5 rows SC). FO and leave long tail for sewing. Sew looped mane to back of head.

Snout:

With Beige yarn, CH 2
Rnd 1: Work 6 SC in second CH from hook.
Rnd 2: Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in each of the next two STS. Repeat from * once (8 SC)

Crochet in White until rnd 15, then 2 rnds black, then 2 rnds continue sequence until rnd 31, finish last rnds in White
