SIZE:
10cm in width and 12cm in height
MATERIALS:
Yarns:
Double knitting/light worsted yarn
25grams of double knitting/light worsted yarn, in dark brown and beige
Small amounts of double knitting/light worsted yarn, in light brown, yellow, black and white
 
Hooks & Notions:
Small amount of fiberfill/toy stuffing
Size 3.50mm Hook
Yarn Needle
Stitch Marker
GAUGE:
22sts x 30 rows = 10 x 10cm
Tension/Gauge is not necessary for this project to be perfect
I use US Crochet stitch terminology

INSTRUCTIONS

Front: With beige yarn, CH 24
Row 1: 1 SC into 4th Ch from hook, *1 CH, miss 1 CH, 1 SC into next CH, rep from* to end, turn.
Row 2: 2 CH, 1 SC into first Ch sp, *1 CH, 1 SC into next CH SP, rep from * to end, turn. Repeat last row 18 times more (20 Rows), FO
Back and Flap: (worked as one piece)
With beige yarn, CH 24
Row 1: 1 SC into 4th Ch from hook, *1 CH, miss 1 CH, 1 SC into next CH, rep from* to end, turn.
Row 2: 2 CH, 1 SC into first Ch sp, *1 CH, 1 SC into next CH SP, rep from * to end, turn. Repeat last row 18 times more (20 Rows)

Cut yarn, join brown yarn on last stitch
Row 21: Repeat Row 2
Row 22: CH 1, Loop ST in each SC and CH SP (21 Loops)
Row 23: Work 1 SC in each ST across (21 SC)
Tip: When changing colors on do not cut the yarn carry it up the side of the work!
Change to yellow yarn
Row 24: CH 1, Loop ST in each SC (21 Loops)
Row 25: Work 1 SC in each ST across (21 SC)
Change to brown yarn: Repeat row 24 and 25
Change to yellow yarn: Repeat row 24 and 25
Change to brown yarn: Repeat row 24 and 25
Change to beige yarn
Row 32: Work 1 SC in each ST across (21 SC)
Row 33: SC2tog, work 1 SC in next 17 STS, SC2tog. (19 SC)
Row 34: SC2tog, work 1 SC in next 15 STS, SC2tog. (17 SC)
Row 35: SC2tog, work 1 SC in next 13 STS, SC2tog. (15 SC)
Row 36: SC2tog, work 1 SC in next 11 STS, SC2tog. (13 SC)
Row 37: SC2tog, work 1 SC in next 9 STS, SC2tog. (11 SC)
Row 38: SC2tog, work 1 SC in next 7 STS, SC2tog. (9 SC)
Row 39: SC2tog, work 1 SC in next 5 STS, SC2tog. (7 SC)
Row 40: Work 1 SC in each ST across. (7 SC) FO
Strap and Gusset: (worked as one piece)
With dark brown yarn, CH 160
Row 1: 1 SC into 4th Ch from hook,*1 CH, miss 1 CH, 1 SC into next CH, rep from* to end, turn.
Row 2: 2 CH, 1 SC into first Ch sp, *1 CH, 1 SC into next CH SP, rep from * to end, turn
Repeat last row 2 times more (4 Rows)
Measures about 80cm
Leave a very long tail (30-40cm) for sewing!
Snout:
This part is made by working in continuous rounds, so you may want to use a stitch marker to keep record of your current rnd.
With beige yarn:
Rnd 1: CH 2. Work 6 SC in second CH from hook. Place a stitch marker in the last SC to designate the end of the rnd.
Rnd 2: Work 2 SC in each ST around (12 SC). MM
Rnd 3: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next ST. Repeat from * around (18 SC). MM
Rnd 4: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in each of the next two STS.  Repeat from * around (24 SC). MM
Rnd 5: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in each of the next three STS. Repeat from * around (30 SC). MM
Rnd 6 – 8: SC in each ST around (30SC). FO, leave a long tail for sewing
Eyes: (make two)
With white yarn:
Rnd 1: CH 6, join with SL ST to form ring. 2 CH, work 9 HDC into ring. FO, leave a tail for sewing
Finishing:
Attach one end of strap to the inside  of the back, start sewing at the first row just beneath the loops.
Fold corner inwards and continue sewing strap around outer edge of the back.
Sew the two ends of strap together as shown in photo.
Continue sewing until just beneath the loop row.
Thread yarn through strap.
Start sewing front piece to strap, sewing all the  way back around.
This is what the bag should look like now.
Weave in all ends and trim neatly.
Continue sewing downwards, attach to last two rows and FO.
Finishing: Snout
Attach nose to the 7 STS of the last row of the flap.
Attach to the first two rows at the side, continue inward toward the row just beneath the loops, attach  to middle 7 STS.
Stuff snout lightly, if you press in the middle it should dip a little bit inwards.
Weave in all ends and trim neatly.
Finishing: Eyes and Snout Detail
Position eyes and sew in place.
With black thread sew long straight stitches as shown in photo for nose and mouth, pulling thread tight to shape snout. You can use safety eyes or crochet small circles for black part of eyes.
Rnd 1: CH 2, work 6 SC in second Ch from hook, FO Attach to center of white eyes.
Optional: Tail:
Braid a tail with various colors and attach to back of bag.

Rnd 6-8: Work 1 SC in each ST around (24 SC). MM
Rnd 9: *SC2tog and work 1 SC in next two STS. Repeat from * around (18 SC). MM
Rnd 10: Work 1 SC in each ST around (18 SC). MM
Rnd 11: *SC2tog and work 1 SC in next ST. Repeat from * around (12 SC). MM
Push fiberfill through opening until head is sufficiently stuffed.
Rnd 12: *SC2tog. Repeat from * around (6 SC). FO Leave a tail to sew opening close.
Outer Ears: (make two)

With brown yarn:  CH 2.

With beige yarn:  CH 2.
Rnd 1: Work 6 SC in second CH from hook. Place a stitch marker in the last SC to designate the end of the rnd.
Rnd 2: Work 2 SC in each ST around (12 SC). MM
Rnd 3: SL ST in next ST, work 6 HDC in next ST, SL ST in next ST, work 6 HDC in next ST, SL ST in remaining 8 STS. FO, leave a long tail for sewing.
Sew face onto head. Embroider eyes, nose and mouth with a small amount of black yarn.
