White, Caramel & Pink Icing:
Size: 11,5 cm in diameter worked with a 3.50 mm hook and double knitting/light worsted yarn
This part is made by working in continuous rounds, so you may want to use a stitch marker to keep record of your current rnd.
Rnd 1: With yarn, CH2. Work 6 SC in second CH from hook. Place a stitch marker in the last SC to designate the end of the rnd.
Rnd 2: Work 2 SC in each ST around (12 SC). MM
Rnd 3: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next ST. Repeat from * around (18 SC). MM

Rnd 13: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next eleven STS. Repeat from * around (78 SC). MM
Rnd 14: For this rnd only work in the back loops.
This part is worked in free-form style:
Exp – SL ST in first ST, CH 8, 6 HDC across CH STS, skip next SC of previous row, SL ST in next 5 STS.
Work around adjusting the CH length and HDC STS to your liking, at the end of the rnd. FO and weave in tail end.

Note: I sewed on some small Velcro pieces on the ends of the HDC Chains. (I used only the part with the hard little teeth) This helps to keep the HDC Chains down over the edges of the cake base, by lightly sticking to the wool. This creates the overflowing Icing syrup.

Tip: If this is made for very young children I would omit the beads and the Velcro If the syrup chains are made long enough they will hang down over the cake base. Craft glue can be used for the Velcro, but if used as a toy I would rather sew the Velcro on.

Beaded Dark Chocolate Icing:

Size: 11,5 cm in diameter worked with a 3.50 mm hook and double knitting/light worsted yarn
Before starting thread 66 various color seed beads onto the yarn that you will crochet with.

MM

How to insert bead:
Yarn over hook, bead should be facing towards you. Insert hook into next ST, Yarn over hook, pull through, yarn over hook, and pull through both loops and under bead. Beaded SC made. (6 Beads will be used per rnd.)

Rnd 3: *Work 2 SC in first ST (insert bead) and 1 SC in next ST. Repeat from * around (18 SC). MM
Rnd 4: *Work 2 SC in first ST (insert bead) and 1 SC in next two STS. Repeat from * around (24 SC). MM
Rnd 5: *Work 2 SC in first ST (insert bead) and 1 SC in next three STS. Repeat from * around (30 SC). MM
Rnd 6: *Work 2 SC in first ST (insert bead) and 1 SC in next four STS. Repeat from * around (36 SC). MM
Rnd 7: *Work 2 SC in first ST (insert bead) and 1 SC in next five STS. Repeat from * around (42 SC). MM
Rnd 8: *Work 2 SC in first ST (insert bead) and 1 SC in next six STS. Repeat from * around (48 SC). MM
Rnd 9: *Work 2 SC in first ST (insert bead) and 1 SC in next seven STS. Repeat from * around (54 SC). MM
Rnd 10: *Work 2 SC in first ST (insert bead) and 1 SC in next eight STS. Repeat from * around (60 SC). MM
Rnd 11: *Work 2 SC in first ST (insert bead) and 1 SC in next nine STS. Repeat from * around (66 SC). MM
Rnd 12: *Work 2 SC in first ST (insert bead) and 1 SC in next ten STS. Repeat from * around (72 SC). MM
Rnd 13: *Work 2 SC in first ST (insert bead) and 1 SC in next eleven STS. Repeat from * around (78 SC). MM
Rnd 14: For this rnd only work in the back loops.

Over the next 6 STS work as follows:
*Work 1 SC in next ST, 1 HDC in next ST, (1 TR,1 DTR) in next ST, (1 DTR, 1 TR) in next ST, 1 HDC in next ST, 1 SC in next ST .
Repeat from * 12 more times. SL ST in first SC made, FO and weave in tail end.

Small Pink Rosette Icing:

Size: 4 cm in diameter worked with a 3.50 mm hook and double knitting/light worsted yarn
Rnd 1: With yarn, CH2. Work 6 SC in second CH from hook. Place a stitch marker in the last SC to designate the end of the rnd.
Rnd 2: For this rnd only work in the back loops.
Work 2 SC in each ST around (12 SC). SL ST in next ST, CH 1 and turn.

Next:
With the wrong side facing towards you, work (1 SC, 1 HDC and 1 SC) in next back loop. Continue working the pattern in the brackets in each back loop until the center is reached, SL ST in last SC, FO and pull tail through the center and weave in.

Note:
I sewed on some small Velcro pieces on the bottom of the Pink Rosettes and White Flowers. (I used only the part with the hard little teeth) This helps to keep the Rosettes and Flower stick to the cake by lightly sticking to the wool.

Button Flower:

Size: Flower – 3 cm, Button – 2 cm in diameter worked with a 3.50 mm hook and double knitting/light worsted yarn
This decoration is worked in two parts:

Part One: White Flower
With yarn, CH 6 and SL ST to form a ring.
*Work 3 CH, 2 DC into ring, 3 CH and then SL ST into ring – First Petal made. Repeat from * 4 times more. 5 Petals made. FO and weave in tail end.

Part Two: Chocolate Button
Rnd 1: With yarn, CH2. Work 6 SC in second CH from hook. Place a stitch marker in the last SC to designate the end of the rnd.
Rnd 2-4: Work 2 SC in each ST around (12 SC). FO and leave a tail for sewing.

Next:
Flip wrong side inwards.
Sew chocolate button onto flower, weave in tail end. Push a small amount of fiberfill/stuffing through ring hole of flower to fill up button firmly. I used the end of my 4.00 hook to push the fiberfill/stuffing into the button.
