Rainbow Wheel Bag

 This square is very versatile because of the color variations!
A great project to use small amounts of yarn scraps!
SKILL LEVEL:
Easy
Basic stitches, simple shaping and finishing.
SIZE:
20cm in length and 28cm in width
MATERIALS:
Yarns:
Scraps of Double knitting/light worsted yarn
Hooks & Notions:
Hook – 4.00mm (US F/5 UK 8)
Wool Sewing Needle
Scissors
GAUGE:
Tension/Gauge is not necessary for this project to be perfect
I use US Crochet stitch terminology

Instructions

The Square (Make 4)
With 4.00mm hook and yarn
CH 4
Rnd 1: Work 11DC into 4th CH from hook (12DC), SL ST into 3rd CH
Rnd 2: Work 2DC into each DC (24DC), cut yarn
Rnd 3: Join new color with a SC into a DC from Rnd 2, *skip 1DC, CH3, work 1SC into next DC. Repeat from * until end, cut yarn.
Rnd 4: Join new color with a SL ST into a 3CH space. CH3, work 2DC into space, CH1. *Work 3DC into next 3CH space, CH1. Repeat from * until end, cut yarn.
Rnd 5: Join new color with a SC into 1CH space, CH4. *Work 1 SC into next 1CH space, CH4. Repeat from * until end, cut yarn.
Rnd 6: Join new color with a SL ST into a 4CH space. CH3, work 3DC into space, CH1. *Work 4DC into next 4CH space, CH1. Repeat from * until end, cut yarn.
Rnd 7: Join new color with a SL ST into a 1CH space. CH3, work 2DC, 2CH, 3DCinto same space.*Ch2, work 3DC into next 1CH space, CH2 work 3DC into 1CH space, CH2, work 3DC, 2CH, 3DC into next 1CH space.Repeat from * until end of rnd.
Rnd 8: Work 1SC into each ST from previous rnd, working 2Sc into each 1SC space and 2SC, 1CH, 2SC into each corner 2CH space. Cut yarn and weave in ends.
The Bag:
SL ST or sew 4 squares together to make one big square.
Fold in half and SL ST or sew sides closed.
Join new color with a SL ST into any St at the opening on top,
Rnd 1: CH1, work 1SC into same space, work 1SC into each ST all around.SL ST into 1ST SC
Rnd 2: *CH1, work 1SC into same space, SL ST into 1ST SC. Repeat this rnd 7 more times.
Rnd 10: CH4, skip 1SC, *work 1DC into next SC, skip 1SC. Repeat from until end, SL ST into 3rd CH.
Rnd 11: CH1, work 1SC into same space.*Work 1SC into 1CH space, work 1SC into DC from previous rnd. Repeat from * until end.
Rnd 12: *CH1, work 1SC into same space, SL ST into 1ST SC. Repeat from * until end. Cut yarn and weave in ends.
Optional:
Weave a ribbon through Rnd 10
or
With a 5.00mm hook
make a chain cord by working 3 yarns together at the same time.
