Granny Square Sock Bag

 Our winter is in a few months and my feet are always freezing,
so I sleep with lovely warm bed socks. But I have this habit of
always misplacing them so I decided to make myself a special
Winter Sock Bag!
SKILL LEVEL:
Easy
Basic stitches, simple shaping and finishing.
SIZE:
40cm in length and 30cm in width
MATERIALS:
Yarns:
Double knitting/light worsted yarn in
Yellow (25 grams)
Purple (25 grams)
Coral Pink (50 grams)
Beige/White (50 grams)
Hooks & Notions:
Hook – 4.00mm (US F/5 UK 8)
Wool Sewing Needle
Scissors
Ribbon ( 1meter)
GAUGE:
Tension/Gauge is not necessary for this project to be perfect
I use US Crochet stitch terminology

INSTRUCTIONS

 
Front Of Bag:
Square: Make 9
With 4.00mm hook and yarn
CH4
RND 1: 1DC into 4th CH from hook, work 2DC into same CH, CH3, *work 3DC into same CH, CH3. Rep from * 2 times more.
Cut yarn, join new yarn with a SL ST into a 3CH space
RND 2: CH4 (counts a tr), work 2TR, 3CH, 3TR into 3CH space. *CH1, work 3TR, 3CH, 3TR into next 3CH space. Rep from * 2 times more.
Cut yarn, join new yarn with a SL ST into a 3CH space
RND 3: CH3 (counts as dc), work 2DC, 3CH, 3DC into 3CH space. *CH1, work 3DC into 1CH space, CH1, work 3DC, 3CH, 3DC into 3CH space. Rep from * 2 times more.
FO and weave in ends
SC squares together in a 3 by 3 rows.
Border:
With 4.00mm hook and yarn (yellow)
Join yarn with a SL ST into a hook, work 2DC, 2CH, 2DC into 4 outside corners only, work 1DC into each DC and 1CH all around. FO and weave in ends.
Back of Bag:
With 4.00mm hook and yarn (Coral Pink)
Join with a SL ST into a corner 2CH space, work 1DC into each DC until end of side, turn
Work 21 row more. FO and weave in ends.
SC sides together. FO and weave in ends.
Top Border:
With 4.00mm hook and yarn (Beige/White)
Join with a SL ST into any DC,
CH1, work 1SC into same space, work 1SC into each DC, join with a SL ST into first SC.
Next rnd: CH1, work 1SC into same space, work 1SC into each SC, join with a SL ST into first SC.
Rep this rnd 8 times more, Loosely SL ST all around, FO and weave in ends.
Weave Ribbon into DC row just below 1st SC rnd of Top Border.
My only problem is my daughter thinks the bag is for her!!!
