April Rainbow Diamonds Infinity Scarf – Crafting A Rainbow Of Hope

Rainbow Diamonds Infinity Scarf

Crocheted with bright spring variegated yarn gives this scarf a playful and fun look.
Works up quickly:)

Basic stitches, simple shaping and finishing.
Yarn: double knitting/light worsted yarn (No 3)
optional – variegated
This scarf only took one skein – 1 x 50 grams (this will depend on tension)
Hook: 4.00 mm
Size: approx 10 cm in width (4 inches) and 200 cm in length (78 inches)
Tension/Gauge is not necessary for this project to be perfect
I use US Crochet stitch terminology
CH – chain
SC – single crochet
DC – double crochet
DC3tog – double crochet 3 stitches together
Multiple x 3
CH 258
Row 1: Work 1 SC into 2nd chain from hook; work 1 SC into each CH until end (257 SC), TURN
Row 2: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); SKIP next ST, work 3 DC into next ST; *SKIP next 2 STS, work 3 DC into next ST. Repeat from * until last 5 STS; SKIP 2 STS, work 3 DC into next ST, SKIP 1 ST, work 1 DC into last ST, TURN
Row 3: CH 4 (counts as 1 DC plus 1 CH), *DC3tog, CH 2. Repeat from * until last 4 STS, DC3tog, CH 1, work 1 DC into last ST, TURN
Row 4: CH 1, work 1 SC into first ST, work 1 SC into 1 CH space, work 1 SC into top of previous row’s DC3tog, work 2 SC next 2 CH space.
*Work 1 SC into top of previous row’s DC3tog, work 2 SC into next 2 CH space. Repeat from until last 1 CH space, work 1 SC into 1 CH space, work 1 SC into last ST, (257 SC), TURN
Repeat rows 2-4 once more. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Each DC3tog is worked over the previous row’s 3 DC into ST (forms a ‘diamond’)
Keep scarf as is or work the two short edges together
to create an infinity scarf 🙂
