approx Length – approx 16 cm / 18 cm finished
Notes:
Tension/Gauge is not necessary for this project to be perfect
I use US Crochet stitch terminology
Abbreviations:
CH –  chain
SC – single crochet
DC –  double crochet

SPECIAL STITCH – Bean Stitch (BS)
– [Insert hook into ST, yarn over, pull loop thru] x 3 (6 loops on hook), yarn over and pull through all 6 loops.

The Bean Stitch is almost worked like a Puff Stitch – but the first yarn over as with a puff stitch is left out – which gives the Bean Stitch it’s slanted look.

Note: When working into a Bean Stitch – each Bean Stitch has two STS, insert hook into the left ST (its bigger!)

Meladora’s Creations – has video tutorials for Right Hand & Left Hand.

Stop about 10 cm before completely sewn closed – stuff with the fiberfill/toy stuffing as desired – Note: be careful though if you crochet loosely your stuffing might pop out between your bean stitches. Make a little fabric pocket – stuff and insert pocket into mouse.

Close the gap – weave your yarn down the side until just above half – see photos
CCW-CAROH-BUBBLESBLUE007CCW-CAROH-BUBBLESBLUE008
Weave yarn around the back of each ‘bean stitch’ being careful to go just underneath the front few loops, weave yarn all in round to create the ‘neck’.

Pull yarn to create neck – Note: do not be like superman and pull the yarn too hard – it will break. Just lightly pull to create a little bit of shape, THEN wrap the remaining yarn several times around the neck. Pull to secure and fasten off.
