MATERIALS:
Yarns:
Elle Charity Yarn – approx 50 g Orangewood (variegated); 50g Rust; 25/30 g Fuchsia.
Hooks & Notions:
Hook 4,00 mm (Clover)
Yarn needle

Abbreviations:
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet
HDC – half double crochet
DC – double crochet

Notes:
I use US Crochet stitch terminology.
Due to the nature of this pattern – the yarn and hook used is only a suggestion and any substitute may be used.
Size of finished product will vary depending on yarn and also size of hook used.

Size: approx 20 cm bottom diameter and 30 cm in length without strap

INSTRUCTIONS:

WITH RUST
Make a magic ring/ or CH 2

RND 1: Work 6 SC into ring (or 2nd CH from hook); join with a SL ST into first SC.
RND 2: CH 1 (does NOT count as a ST); work 2 SC into each SC all around (12 SC); join with a SL ST into first SC.
RND 3: CH 1 (does NOT count as a ST); *work 1 SC into next SC; work 2 SC into next SC. Repeat from * all around (18 SC); join with a SL ST into first SC.
RND 4: CH 1 (does NOT count as a ST); *work 1 SC into next 2 SC; work 2 SC into next SC. Repeat from * all around (24 SC); join with a SL ST into first SC.
RND 5: CH 1 (does NOT count as a ST); *work 1 SC into next 3 SC; work 2 SC into next SC. Repeat from * all around (30 SC); join with a SL ST into first SC.
RND 6: CH 1 (does NOT count as a ST); *work 1 SC into next 4 SC; work 2 SC into next SC. Repeat from * all around (36 SC); join with a SL ST into first SC.
RND 7: CH 1 (does NOT count as a ST); *work 1 SC into next 5 SC; work 2 SC into next SC. Repeat from * all around (42 SC); join with a SL ST into first SC.
RND 8: CH 1 (does NOT count as a ST); *work 1 SC into next 6 SC; work 2 SC into next SC. Repeat from * all around (48 SC); join with a SL ST into first SC.
RND 9: CH 1 (does NOT count as a ST); *work 1 SC into next 7 SC; work 2 SC into next SC. Repeat from * all around (54 SC); join with a SL ST into first SC.
RND 10: CH 1 (does NOT count as a ST); *work 1 SC into next 8 SC; work 2 SC into next SC. Repeat from * all around (60 SC); join with a SL ST into first SC.
RND 11: CH 1 (does NOT count as a ST); *work 1 SC into next 9 SC; work 2 SC into next SC. Repeat from * all around (66 SC); join with a SL ST into first SC.
RND 12: CH 1 (does NOT count as a ST); *work 1 SC into next 10 SC; work 2 SC into next SC. Repeat from * all around (72 SC); join with a SL ST into first SC.
RND 13: CH 1 (does NOT count as a ST); *work 1 SC into next 11 SC; work 2 SC into next SC. Repeat from * all around (78 SC); join with a SL ST into first SC.
RND 14: CH 1 (does NOT count as a ST); *work 1 SC into next 12 SC; work 2 SC into next SC. Repeat from * all around (84 SC); join with a SL ST into first SC.
RND 15: CH 1 (does NOT count as a ST); *work 1 SC into next 13 SC; work 2 SC into next SC. Repeat from * all around (90 SC); join with a SL ST into first SC.

NEXT RND: FOR THIS ROUND ONLY WORK INTO BACK-LOOPS – CH 1 (does NOT count as a ST); work 1 SC into each ST all around; join with a SL ST into first SC.

CONTINUE WORKING THE FOLLOWING PATTERN:

WITH ORANGEWOOD (VARIEGATED) – color can be changed after every second round (SC round)

RIPPLE PATTERN:
RND 1: CH 1 (does NOT count as a ST); *work 1 SC into next 3 STS; work 1 HDC into next 2 STS; work 1 DC into next 3 STS; work 1 HDC into next 2 STS. Repeat from * all around; join with a SL ST into first SC.
RND 2: CH 1 (does NOT count as a ST); work 1 SC into each ST all around; join with a SL ST into first SC.
RND 3: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into next 2 STS; *work 1 HDC into next 2 STS; work 1 SC into next 3 STS; work 1 HDC into next 2 STS; work 1 DC into next 3 STS. Repeat from * all around ending with 1 HDC into last 2 STS; join with a SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
RND 4: Repeat round 2.

Repeat these four rounds to form pattern and for required length.
Mine measured approx 25 cm before I changed to the border and eyelet round.

WITH FUCHSIA

NEXT RND: CH 2 (counts as 1 HDC); work 1 HDC into next 6 STS; HDC2tog over next 2 STS;
*work 1 HDC into next 7 STS; work HDC2tog over next 2 STS.
Repeat from * all around ( 80 STS); join with a SL ST into 2nd CH of 2 CH.

NEXT RND: CH 2 (counts as 1 HDC); work 1 HDC into each ST all around; join with a SL ST into 2nd CH of 2 CH.

EYELET-HOLE RND: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into next 2 STS; CH 1; SKIP next ST.
*Work 1 DC into next 3 STS; CH 1; SKIP next ST. Repeat from * all around; join with a SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.

NEXT 2 RNDS: CH 2 (counts as 1 HDC); work 1 HDC into each ST all around; join with a SL ST into 2nd CH of 2 CH.
LAST RND: CH 1 (does NOT count as a ST); work 1 SC into each ST all around; join with a SL ST into first SC.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

STRAP: Join YARN to any SC; CH 60 (or any length – depending how long you would like your strap to be); join CH with a SL ST into OPPOSITE SC – on the other side of bag;
TIP – pinch the bag together and the SC directly opposite the START SC.
CH 1; work 1 SC into each CH;
SL ST into ST next to the join SC; TURN;
CH 1; work 1 SC into each SC of the STRAP;
SL ST into ST next to the join SC (opposite); TURN;
CH 1; work 1 SC into each SC of the STRAP;
SL ST into last joining SL ST;
Fasten off and weave in ends.
