Giant Donut

SIZE:
14cm in diameter and 5cm in height
MATERIALS:
Yarns:
Double knitting/light worsted yarn

Approx. 25grams of double knitting/light worsted yarn, in colors of choice

Hooks & Notions:
Small amount fiberfill/toy stuffing
Size 3.50mm Hook
Yarn needle
Stitch marker
GAUGE:
22sts x 30 rows = 10 x 10cm

Tension/Gauge is not necessary for this project to be perfect

INSTRUCTIONS

Donut Base:
This part is made by working in continuous rounds, so you may want to use a stitch marker to keep record of your current rnd.
NOTE: MM – move stitch marker
Rnd 1: With yarn, CH 36. Join with a slip ST to make a ring. *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next ST. Repeat from * around (54 SC). Place a stitch marker in the last SC to designate the end of the rnd.
Rnd 2:  Work 1SC in each ST around (54 SC). MM
Rnd 3: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next two STS. Repeat from * around (72 SC). MM
Rnd 4: Work 1SC in each ST around (72 SC). MM
Rnd 5: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next three STS. Repeat from * around (90 SC). MM
Rnd 6: Work 1SC in each ST around (90 SC). MM
Rnd 7 – 12: Work 1SC in each ST around (90 SC). MM
Rnd 13: *SC2tog and work 1SC in next three STS. Repeat from * around (72 SC). MM
Rnd 14: Work 1SC in each ST around (72 SC). MM
Rnd 15: *SC2tog and work 1SC in next two STS. Repeat from * around (54 SC). MM
Rnd 16: Work 1SC in each ST around (54 SC). MM
Rnd 17: *SC2tog and work 1SC in next ST. Repeat from * around (36 SC). MM
Rnd 18: Work 1SC in each ST around (36 SC). FO and leave a long tail for sewing.
Finishing: 
Sew last rnd of donut to first rnd, stuff firmly before sewing closed. Weave in ends.
Icing:
This part is made by working in continuous rounds, so you may want to use a stitch marker to keep record of your current rnd.

Rnd 8: *(SC in next ST, HDC, DC in next ST, DC in next ST , DC, HDC in next ST, SC in next). Repeat from * 17 times more (18 Petals) FO and leave a long tail for sewing.
Finishing:
Embroider French knots in assorted colors onto the icing. Attach icing to top of donut. Weave in all ends.
