Mini Flower Gift Box

Size:  7cm in diameter and 6cm in length
MATERIALS:
Yarns:
Double knitting/light worsted yarn
Small amounts of double knitting/light worsted yarn, in purple, pink and green
Hooks & Notions:
Size 3.50mm Hook
Yarn Needle
Stitch Marker
Optional – Ribbon
GAUGE:
22sts x 30 rows = 10 x 10cm
Tension/Gauge is not necessary for this project to be perfect
I use US Crochet stitch terminology

INSTRUCTIONS

Flower:
Rnd 1: With light green yarn, CH 2. Work 6 SC in second CH from hook.
Rnd 2: SL ST into first SC, CH 6, *SL ST into next SC, CH 6. Repeat 4 times more. (6 loops made) Cut yarn.
Rnd 3: Attach purple yarn with a SC to any loop, 1HDC, 2 DC, 1HDC and 1 SC in same loop. *1SC, 1HDC, 2DC, 1HDC, 1SC in next loop. Repeat from * for the 4 remaining loops. SL ST in first loop and FO
Rnd 4: With dark green yarn, attach with  SL ST around any light green CH, inserting hook from back to front, then front to back, yarn over hook and pull through. CH 6,
SL ST around next light green CH, CH 6, continue until there are 6 loops. SL ST around first CH and FO.
Rnd 5: Attach pink yarn with a SC to any loop, 1HDC, 1DC, 2TR, 1DC, 1HDC and 1SC in same loop. *1SC, 1HDC, 1DC, 2TR, 1DC, 1HDC, 1SC in next loop. Repeat from * for the 4 remaining loops. SL ST in first loop and FO
Flower Button:
This part is made by working in continuous rounds, so you may want to use a stitch marker to keep record of your current rnd.
Rnd 1: With yellow yarn, CH 2. Work 6 SC in second CH from hook. Place a stitch marker in the last SC to designate the end of the rnd.
Rnd 2: Work 2 SC in each ST around (12 SC). MM
Rnd 3-6: SC in each ST around (12 SC). FO, stuff lightly and sew onto flower center.
Box – Bottom:
This part is made by working in continuous rounds, so you may want to use a stitch marker to keep record of your current rnd.
Rnd 1: With purple yarn, CH 2. Work 6 SC in second CH from hook. Place a stitch marker in the last SC to designate the end of the rnd.
Rnd 2: Work 2 SC in each ST around (12 SC). MM
Rnd 3: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next ST. Repeat from * around (18 SC). MM
Rnd 4: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next two STS. Repeat from * around (24 SC). MM
Rnd 5: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next three STS. Repeat from * around (30 SC). MM
Rnd 6: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next four STS. Repeat from * around (36 SC). MM
Rnd 7: For this rnd only work in back loops. SC in each ST around (36 SC). MM
Rnd 8-12: SC in each ST around (36 SC). MM
Rnd 13: SL ST in each ST. FO and weave in ends.
Box -Lid:
Rnd 1: With purple yarn, CH 4. Work 11 DC in second CH from hook. (12 DC). SL ST into 3rd of 3CH.
Rnd 2: 3CH (counts first DC), 1DC in same ST. *2DC in next ST, repeat from * until end. (24 DC) SL ST into 3rd of 3CH.
Rnd 3: 3CH (counts first DC), 1DC in same ST, 1DC in next ST. *2DC in next ST, 1DC in next ST. Repeat from * until end. (36 DC) SL ST into 3rd of 3CH.
This part is made by working in continuous rounds, so you may want to use a stitch marker to keep record of your current rnd.
Rnd 4: For this rnd only work in back loops. 3CH, 1DC in each ST until end (36 DC) SL ST into 3rd of 3CH
Rnd 5: 3CH, 1DC in each ST until end (36 DC) SL ST into 3rd of 3CH
Rnd 6: SL ST loosely in each ST. FO and weave in ends.
Attach flower to top of lid – optional weave in ribbon through rnd 4 of lid.
