INSTRUCTIONS

CH 197 (amount divided by 5 plus 2)
Note: you will have a chain for each color required. i.e 5 Color Chains.
Tip: I used stitch markers to mark every 10 stitch. I marked the first 5 stitches at the end of my chain row and then every 10th stitch. I found this made it easier to crochet and faster than having to count while trying to keep track of the interlocking, BUT, counting always does ensure success!
ROW 1: Work 1 DC into 4th CH from hook, (first 3 CH counts as 1st DC), then work 1 DC into next 3 CH (5 DC), then CH 5, *SKIP 5 CH, work 1 DC into next 5 CH, CH 5. ** Repeat from* to ** until end of chain; work 1 DC into each of last 5 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
TIP – START EACH ROW FROM THE SAME SIDE! This will ensure your interlocking is worked correctly. (i.e – Do NOT turn)
Note: each row is a different colored  chain.
ROW 2 and 4: Work 1 DC into 4th CH from hook, (first 3 CH counts as 1st DC), then work 1 DC into next 3 CH (5 DC), then CH 5,
*Remove hook and pull the chain through the 5 CH opening of previous row (FRONT to BACK);
SKIP 5 CH, work 1 DC into next 5 CH, CH 5;
remove hook and pull the chain the next 5 CH opening of previous row (BACK to FRONT);
SKIP 5 CH, work 1 DC into next 5 CH, CH 5. **
** Repeat from* to ** until end of chain; work 1 DC into each of last 5 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
ROW 3 and 5: Work 1 DC into 4th CH from hook, (first 3 CH counts as 1st DC), then work 1 DC into next 3 CH (5 DC), then CH 5,
*Remove hook and pull the chain through the 5 CH opening of previous row (BACK to FRONT);
SKIP 5 CH, work 1 DC into next 5 CH, CH 5;
remove hook and pull the chain the next 5 CH opening of previous row (FRONT to BACK);
SKIP 5 CH, work 1 DC into next 5 CH, CH 5. **
** Repeat from* to ** until end of chain; work 1 DC into each of last 5 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
In the images below the top 5 DC (red wine) is in front, then the 5 DC below is at the back (chocolate), the beige 5 DC is in front, cream 5 DC is in the back and the bottom 5 DC is in the front.
With 6, 00 mm hook and left over yarn from each color add tassels to color end.
