Carnival Reversible Cushion Part Two

PART TWO:
Square Circles Times Nine
SKILL LEVEL:
Easy to Intermediate
Basic stitches, simple shaping and finishing.
SIZE:
Circle Square: 11 cm x 11 cm
MATERIALS:
Yarns:
Small amounts of double knitting/light worsted yarn in various colors or
various colors in any yarn available
IMPORTANT NOTE – USE THE SAME TYPE OF YARN THROUGH OUT THE PROJECT!
Don’t stress – the size will just differ if different types are used 🙂
Hooks & Notions:
Size 4,00 mm
Yarn Needle
GAUGE:
Tension/Gauge is not necessary for this project to be perfect as long as all the blocks are approx. the same size
I use US Crochet stitch terminology
 
The Square Circle: (Make 9)
Make a magic ring
Rnd 1: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC), work 11 DC into ring, join with SL ST into top of 3CH (12 DC) – change color
Rnd 2: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same ST. *Work 2 DC into next ST, repeat from * until end, join with a SL ST into top of 3CH (24 DC) – change color
Rnd 3: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same ST, work 1 DC into next ST. *Work 2 DC into next ST, work 1 DC into next ST, repeat from * until end, join with a SL ST into top of 3CH (36 DC) – change color
Rnd 4: CH 1, work 1 SC into same ST, work 1 SC into each ST until end, join with a SL ST into first SC ( 36 SC) – change color
Rnd 5: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC, 2 CH 2 DC into same ST, work 1 HDC into next 2 STS, work 1 SC into next 4 STS, work 1 HDC into next 2 STS.
*Work 2 DC, 2 CH, 2 DC into next ST,work 1 HDC into next 2 STS, work 1 SC into next 4 STS, work 1 HDC into next 2 STS. Repeat from * 2 more times, join with a SL ST into top of 3CH – change color
Rnd 6: CH 1, work 1 SC into same ST, work 1 SC into each ST all around, working 3 SC into each corner 2 CH. Join with a SL ST into first SC. FO and weave in all ends.
Note: If you would like an advance start on Part Three:
Sew all nine blocks together to form one big block ( 3 x 3)
