Difficulty Level/Skill Required: Easy – Intermediate
Basic stitches in simple variations, simple repeats, color changes, shaping and finishing.
Includes more involved stitch combinations like the popcorn stitch.
You will need to know basic stitches like the DC (double crochet).
Special stitches explained and links to tutorials are provided.

- Yarn – Charity Double Knit Pullskein (100g / 255 yards / 233 meters)
Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3: Light. - Hook – 4.00 mm (G) – Clover
- Scissors
- Yarn needle

CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop
RS – Right side
WS – Wrong side

INSTRUCTIONS:
Make a magic circle
RND 1: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC), work 23 DC into ring (24 DC), SL ST into top of 3 CH
RND 2: CH 3, work 1 DC into next 2 DC, CH 3;
*work 1 DC into next 3 DC, CH 3. Repeat from * all around.
Change to new color on the SL ST into top of 3rd CH.
RND 3: CH 3, DC2tog over next 2 STS; *CH3, work 1 DC into 3CH space, CH3, DC3tog over next 3 DC; Repeat from * all around, SL ST into top of 3CH
Fasten off and weave in ends.
RND 4: Join new color to any 3 CH space before a SINGLE DC.
CH 4 (counts as 1 DC and 1 CH);
work [3 DC into next 3 CH space, CH 1] 15 times;
work 2 DC into first CH space, join with a SL ST of top of 3 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
RND 5: Join new color to any 1 CH space, CH 4 (counts as 1 DC and 1 CH);
work [4 DC into next 3 CH space, CH 1] 15 times;
work 3 DC into first CH space, join with a SL ST into the 3rd CH of 4 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
RND 6: Join new color to any 1 CH space, CH 4 (counts as 1 DC and 1 CH);
work [5 DC into next 3 CH space, CH 1] 15 times;
work 4 DC into first CH space, join with a SL ST into the 3rd CH of 4 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
RND 7: Join new color to DC in any 5 DC cluster;
CH 1, work 1 SC into same ST, work 1 SC into next 4 DC;
work 1 SC into next 6 DC;
work 1 HDC into next 2 DC, 1 DC into next 2 DC;
work [1DC, 1 TR, 1 DC] into next 1 CH space;
work 1 DC into next 2 DC, work 1 HDC into next 2 DC.
*work 1 SC into next 12 DC;
work 1 HDC into next 2 DC, 1 DC into next 2 DC;
work [1DC, 1 TR, 1 DC] into next 1 CH space;
work 1 DC into next 2 DC, work 1 HDC into next 2 DC.
Repeat from * 2 more times; work 1 SC into next DC; SL ST into first SC made.
Fasten off and weave in ends
RND 8: Join new color to and corner TR.
CH 3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 TR and 1 DC into same ST;
work 1 DC into each ST until next TR;
work [1 DC, 1 TR, 1 DC] into TR;
work 1 DC into each ST until next TR
Repeat from * 2 more times.
SL ST into top of 3 CH
RND 9: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC, 1 TR, 1 DC into next TR;
work 1 DC into each ST until next TR;
work [1 DC, 1 TR, 1 DC] into TR;
work 1 DC into each ST until next TR
Repeat from * 2 more times.
SL ST into top of 3 CH
RND 10: CH 1, work 1 SC into next 2 STS, work 3 SC into top of TR;
continue working in the round working 1 SC into each DC and 3 SC into each corner TR.
SL ST into first SC worked.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
