Abbreviations: US Terminology
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop
RS – Right side
WS – Wrong side

INSTRUCTIONS:
Animal Field:
With double knitting / light worsted (No 3) yarn and 3, 50 mm hook
Cow Bush:
With green yarn, make a magic circle
ROW 1; CH 3 (counts as 1 DC), work 7 DC into ring (8 DC), TURN
ROW 2: For this row work only in front-loops – CH 3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same ST. Work 2 DC into each ST until end (16 DC), TURN
ROW 3: For this row work only in back-loops – CH 3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same ST, work 1 DC into next ST.
*Work 2 DC into next ST, work 1 DC into next ST. Repeat until end of row (24 DC), TURN
ROW 4: For this row work only in front-loops – CH 3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same ST, work 1 DC into next 2 STS.
*Work 2 DC into next ST, work 1 DC into next 2 STS. Repeat until end of row (32 DC), TURN
ROW 5: For this row work only in front-loops – CH 3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same ST, work 1 DC into next 3 STS.
*Work 2 DC into next ST, work 1 DC into next 3 STS. Repeat until end of row (40 DC), TURN
NOTE: for option one I used two yarns – dark green and light green.
OPTION ONE: Rejoin yarn on the 2nd row and work a LOOP STITCH into each exposed loop, then ‘continue in the round’ and work loops into row 1;
‘continue in the round’ and work loops into row 3;
‘continue in the round’ and work loops into row 4.
Fasten off, leave a tail for sewing, weave in ends.
OPTION TWO: Working randomly into each loop as follows; –for exp [1 SC, 1 HDC, 1 SC], next loop [1 DC, 1 SC, 1 HDC], next loop [1 HDC, 1 DC, 1 HDC] – continue in the round working into the exposed loops.

Patches Of Grass:
With green yarn, CH 6
Work 1 SC into 2nd CH from hook;
work 1 SC into next CH;
work 1 HDC into next 2 CH;
work 1 DC into last CH, SL ST into same ST;
*CH 6;
Work 1 SC into 2nd CH from hook;
work 1 SC into next CH;
work 1 HDC into next 2 CH;
work 1 DC into last CH, SL ST into same ST of the FIRST SL ST;
repeat from * one more time.
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
Duck Pond:
With blue yarn, make a magic ring
RND 1: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC), work 11 DC into ring (12 DC), SL ST into top of 3rd CH of 3 CH
RND 2: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same ST; work 2 DC into each DC until end, SL ST into top of 3rd CH of 3 CH
RND 3: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same ST; work 1 DC into next ST.
*Work 2 DC into next ST, work 1 DC into next ST. Repeat from * until end; SL ST into top of 3rd CH of 3 CH
RND 4: *Work 2 SC into next ST, work 1 HDC into next ST, work 1 DC into next ST;
work 2 DC into next, work 1 HDC into next ST, work 1 SC into next ST;
Repeat from * until end. SL ST into first SC
RND 5: *Work 1 SC into next 2 SC, work 1 HDC into next HDC, work 2 DC into next 3 DC;
work 1 HDC into next HDC, work 1 SC into next SC.
Repeat from * 3 more times.
Work 1 SC into remaining STS until end. SL ST into first SC.
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
Pig Mud Pool:
With brown yarn, CH 31
ROW 1: Work 1 SC into 2nd CH from hook, work 1 SC into each CH until end (30 SC), TURN
ROW 2-8: CH 1, work 1 SC into each ST until end (30 SC), TURN
ROW 9: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into next 4 SC, CH 20, SKIP 20 STS, work 1 DC into last 5 STS, TURN
ROW 10: CH 1, work 1 SC into next 5 DC, work 20 SC over the 20 CH, work 1 SC into last 5 DC, TURN
ROW 11 – 13: CH 1, work 1 SC into each ST until end (30 SC), TURN
DO NOT TURN AFTER LAST ROW – BUT CONTINUE TO WORK IN THE ROUND;
Work random STS into each ST for exp – work 1 SC into next 2 STS, work 1 HDC into next ST, work 1 DC into next 5 STS, work 1 HDC into next 2 STS, work 1 SC into next 2 STS, work 1 DC into next 3 STS, work 1 HDC into next 2 STS, work 1 SC into next 5 STS – continue like this all the way around your mud pool.
Note: when you reach the corners work 3 STS into the same ST – for exp 3 SC/ 3 HDC or 3 DC into same ST.
ASSEMBLING THE FIELD:
STEP 1: Sew the cow bush into position – leave the top half open like a pocket (see photo)
STEP 2: Sew pond, mud pool and grass into positions (see photo)
Little Duck:
With yellow yarn, make a magic circle
Body:
Rnd 1: CH 2. Work 6 SC in second CH from hook. Place a stitch marker in the last SC to designate the end of the rnd.
Rnd 2: Work 2 SC in each ST around (12 SC). Move Marker
Rnd 3: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next ST. Repeat from * around (18 SC).
CH 5, turn around and SL ST into a ST on the back – see photo
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Head:
Rnd 1: CH 2. Work 6 SC in second CH from hook. Place a stitch marker in the last SC to designate the end of the rnd.
Rnd 2: Work 2 SC in each ST around (12 SC).
CH 3, SL ST into 3rd CH, SL ST into next SC.
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing head onto body
Sew or knot one side of ribbon (approx 10 – 15 cm) to one side of the pond:
weave ribbon through the CH loop at the back of the little duck;
sew or knot remaining end to the opposite side of the pond;
glue, sew or embroider a eye on.
The Pig
With pink yarn,
Make 2
Rnd 1: CH 2. Work 6 SC in second CH from hook. Place a stitch marker in the last SC to designate the end of the rnd.
Rnd 2: Work 2 SC in each ST around (12 SC). Move Marker
Rnd 3: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next ST. Repeat from * around (18 SC). Move Marker
Rnd 4: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next two STS. Repeat from * around (24 SC). Move Marker
Rnd 5: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next three STS. Repeat from * around (30 SC). Move Marker
Rnd 6: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next four STS. Repeat from * around (36 SC). Move Marker
Rnd 7: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next five STS. Repeat from * around (42 SC).
continue as follows;
ROW 1: Work 1 SC into the next 6 STS, SL ST into the next ST, TURN
ROW 2: do not chain 1 – just work 1 SC into the first SC, work 1 SC into the next 5 SC, SL ST into the next SC, TURN
ROW 3: SL ST into the first SC, CH 1, work 1 SC into the same ST, work 1 SC into the next 5 SC, TURN
ROW 4-5: CH 1, work 1 SC into each SC (6 SC), TURN
ROW 6: SC2tog, *work [1 SC, 1 HDC] into next ST. repeat from * once more, SC2tog.
SL ST all around Cow. Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing on only one piece
Sew the two body pieces wrong sides together.
Stuff body with some fiberfill/toy stuffing before completely sewing close.
Leave a starting tail of approx 10 cm
Ears: Insert hook into a loop on the side of the head – see photos
Work [1 SC, 1 HDC, 1 DC, 1 HDC, 1 SC] into the same loop.
Fasten off and leave a tail approx the same length as starting tail
Repeat for other side
Knot the two tail together on the front of the ear – to shape the ear.

Tail: Insert hook to pop out the center of the magic ring – see photo
CH 5, work 4 SC into each CH
Fasten off and knot the two tails ends and weave in.
The Veggies:
With yarn and 3,50 mm hook
Lettuce:
Make a magic ring
RND 1: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC), work 11 DC into ring (12 DC), SL ST into 3rd CH of 3 CH
RND 2: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same ST; work 2 DC into each ST until end (24 DC)
work as follows;
1 SC into next ST; 1 HDC into next ST; 1 DC into next 2 DC; 1 HDC into next ST; 1 SC into next ST (6 STS)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Rejoin yarn into the back loop of the ST right next to the top of the lettuce.
ROW 1: 1 SC into same loop; 1 SC into next loop; 1 HDC into next loop;
1 DC into next 3 loops; 1 HDC into next loop, ; SC into next loop (8 STS), TURN
ROW 2: 1 SC into first ST, 1 SC into next ST, 1 HDC into next ST, 1 DC into next 2 STS,
1 HDC into next 2 STS, 1 SC into last ST.
Fasten off and weave in ends
Rejoin yarn into the back of the ST right next to the first lettuce leaf.
ROW 1: 1 SC into same loop; 1 SC into next loop; 1 HDC into next loop;
1 DC into next 4 loops; 1 HDC into next loop, ; SC into next 2 loops (10 STS), TURN
ROW 2: 1 SC into first ST, 1 HDC into next 3 STS, 1 DC into next 3 STS,
1 HDC into next 2 STS, 1 SC into last 2 STS.
Fasten off and weave in ends
