Ocean Blanket

MATERIALS:
Yarns:
Double knitting/medium worsted yarn
100 grams of double knitting/medium worsted yarn in:
– white/beige
– dark blue
– light blue
50 grams of double knitting/medium worsted yarn in:
– grey
– gold

Hooks & Notions:
Size 5.00 mm Hook
Yarn Needle

GAUGE:
22sts x 30 rows = 12 x 12cm
Use hook specified or hook size to obtain tension/gauge

Notes:
I use US Crochet stitch terminology

Abbreviations:
CH – chain
SC – single crochet
HDC – half double crochet
DC – double crochet
DECR – work 2 STS together (SC2tog for this pattern)
MM – move stitch marker
SL ST – slip stitch
FO – fasten off

INSTRUCTIONS:

Blanket:

With double knitting/medium worsted yarn and size 5.00 mm hook:
CH 126 + 3

Row 1: Work 2DC into 4th Ch from hook, 1DC into next 3CH, (3DCtog over next 3CH) x 2, 1DC into next 3CH, *(3DC into next CH) x 2, 1DC into next 3CH, (3DCtog over next 3CH) x 2, 1DC into next 3CH*.

Repeat from * to * until end, ending with 3DC in last CH

Row 2: CH1, 1SC into same ST, work 1SC into each ST until end

Row 3: CH3, 2DC into same ST, 1DC into next 3SC, (3DCtog over next 3SC) x 2, 1DC into next 3SC, *(3DC into next SC) x 2 , 1DC into next 3SC, (3DCtog over next 3SC) x 2, 1DC into next 3SC*. Repeat from * to * until end, ending with 3DC into last SC.

Row 4: CH1, 1SC into same ST, work 1SC into each ST until end

Repeat rows 3 and 4 for pattern

Work colors as follows:

• DC row = dark blue
• SC row = grey
• DC row = light blue
• SC row = gold
• DC row = dark blue
• SC row = grey
• DC row = beige/white
• SC row = gold

This is sequence is repeated 4 times ending with a DC row = dark blue and SC row = grey

Row 35:  with light blue yarn –

CH3, 2DC into same ST, 1DC into next 3SC, (3DCtog over next 3SC) x 2, 1DC into next 3SC, *(3DC into next SC) x 2 , 1DC into next 3SC, (3DCtog over next 3SC) x 2, 1DC into next 3SC*. Repeat from * to * until end, ending with 3DC into last SC.

Row 36: continue with light blue yarn –

CH3, 2DC into same ST, 1DC into next 3DC, (3DCtog over next 3DC) x 2, 1DC into next 3DC, *(3DC into next DC) x 2 , 1DC into next 3DC, (3DCtog over next 3DC) x 2, 1DC into next 3DC*. Repeat from * to * until end, ending with 3DC into top of 3CH.

Row 37 – 47: Repeat row 36

Row 48  with beige/white yarn –

CH3, 2DC into same ST, 1DC into next 3DC, (3DCtog over next 3DC) x 2, 1DC into next 3DC, *(3DC into next DC) x 2 , 1DC into next 3DC, (3DCtog over next 3DC) x 2, 1DC into next 3DC*. Repeat from * to * until end, ending with 3DC into top of 3CH.

Row 49-57: Repeat row 48

Row 58: with gold yarn –

CH1, 1SC into same ST, work 1SC into each ST until end

Row 59: with dark blue yarn –

CH3, 2DC into same ST, 1DC into next 3DC, (3DCtog over next 3DC) x 2, 1DC into next 3DC, *(3DC into next DC) x 2 , 1DC into next 3DC, (3DCtog over next 3DC) x 2, 1DC into next 3DC*. Repeat from * to * until end, ending with 3DC into top of 3CH. FO and weave in all ends.
