MATERIALS:
Yarns:
Elle Charity Chunky
Weight – Bulky (7 wpi)
Yardage – 175 yards (160 meters)
Unit weight – 100 grams (3.53 ounces)
Gauge 15.0 sts = 4 inches
Fibers – 100% Manufactured Fibers – Acrylic
Texture – plied
Needles & Notions:
Needles 5.00 mm
Yarn needle
Two medium pom poms
Optional – big button
Abbreviations:
K – knit
P – purl
Notes:
I use US Knitting stitch terminology.
Due to the nature of this pattern – the yarn and needles used is only a suggestion and any substitute may be used.
Size of finished product will vary depending on yarn and also size of needles used.
Size: approx 120 cm in length – I used one ball of Elle Chunky
INSTRUCTIONS:
Note: Leave a starting and end tail of approx 10/15 cm for sewing.
Cast On 20 STS
ROW 1: K 2; P 2
ROW 2 – 10: Repeat row 1
ROW 11: K
Repeat row 11 for the required length.
Then repeat row 1 for the last 10 rows.
Cast off.
Taking one tail with a yarn needle weave tail thru first/last row; pull slightly so that
the ends ‘scrunch’ up. Fasten off and weave in.
Sew the pom poms onto each end.
Flower: (optional)
Cast on 80 STS
ROW 1: K
ROW 2-5: Repeat row 1
Cast off. Leave a long tail for sewing.
Gather flower together like a fan and stitch together (see photos).
Sew a button to the center and attach to scarf.
