Notes:
I use US Crochet stitch terminology.
Due to the nature of this pattern – the yarn and hook used is only a suggestion and any substitute may be used.
Size of finished product will vary depending on yarn and also size of hook used.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Note: This is really an easy pattern and it can be applied to any size CH (excluding the border – that is worked over a 3 CH/ST count )
Color sequence – I changed color at the end of each row, changing on the last stitch worked – I did NOT cut my yarn but carried it up the sides.
CH 32
ROW 1: Work 1 DC into 4th CH from hook (first 3 CH counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into each CH until end (30 DC); TURN
ROW 2: CH 2 (counts as 1 HDC); work 1 HDC into each ST until end (30 HDC); TURN
ROW 3: CH 1; work 1 SC into each ST until end (30 SC); TURN
The following 3 ROWS is the pattern that is repeated for required length. My lovey has 8 repeats.
ROW 4: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into each ST until end (30 DC); TURN
ROW 5: CH 2 (counts as 1 HDC); work 1 HDC into each ST until end (30 HDC); TURN
ROW 6: CH 1; work 1 SC into each ST until end (30 SC); TURN
After last row – Fasten off and weave in ends.
BORDER:
Join Border color to the first ST of the last row worked.
*CH 3; work 3 DC into SAME ST; SKIP 2 STS; SL ST into next ST.
Repeat from until end of row – continue working down the side;
working the pattern of 3 ROWS:
exp
*Row 1: CH 3; 3 DC;
Row 2: SKIP;
Row 3: SKIP;
SL ST into next ROW.
Repeat from * until end – continue working pattern along the bottom CH and then up the other side.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
THE HEART:

Make a magic ring;

RND 1: CH 2; work 15 DC into ring;

RND 2: CH 2; work 1 DC into same ST;
work 4 TR into next ST;
work 2 DC into next ST;
work 1 HDC into next 4 STS;

forming the point:
work [1 DC; 1 TR; 1 DC] into next ST;

work 1 HDC into next 4 STS;
work 2 DC into next ST;
work 4 TR into next ST;
work [1 DC; 2 CH] into next ST;
SL ST into last ST.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

I surface SL ST with white all around the edge of the heart -then with red all around the center circle.
Then I attached the Heart with whip-stitch to the corner of my Lovey.

I have been a crochet designer for more than 10 years. I love to think outside the box and to try and do things a bit differently. I love to learn new techniques and to challenge myself. I firmly believe that crochet should fun and evoke joy and pleasure. Creating and designing is one of my life's passions.
