Basic stitches, simple shaping and finishing.

Approx 20/30 grams of light weight worsted yarn- mixed (leftovers) – aran, pink, coral, variegated

Hooks & Notions:
Hook 4.25 mm
Yarn needle
Small amount of fiberfill / toy stuffing

Size: My lovey measures approx 9 inches

I use US Crochet stitch terminology.
Due to the nature of this pattern – the yarn and hook used is only a suggestion and any substitute may be used.
Size of finished product will vary depending on yarn and also size of hook used.

This stitch I used is called the Woven Stitch (also known as Seed Stitch) : Woven Stitch is worked on a even numbered foundation chain.

work 4 TR into next ST; work 1 DC into next ST;
work [1 HDC; 1 SC] into next ST; work [ 1 HDC; 1 DC] into last ST;
SL ST into 4th CH of 4 CH.

RND 3: CH 1; work 1 SC into each ST – until the point ST – work [ 1 SC; CH 3; SL ST into 2nd CH from hook] into the point ST – continue working 1 SC into each ST until end of RND – SL ST into first SC made.

Fasten off and weave in ends. – Leave a long tail on one of the hearts.

Sew the two hearts together and before closing stuff with some fiber fill.
Before weaving in the ends – take the leftover tail and weave it through the center (magic ring) and over the SC stitch on top of the hearts. Pull slightly to form the heart. Attach heart to center of lovey.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

I have been a crochet designer for more than 10 years. I love to think outside the box and to try and do things a bit differently. I love to learn new techniques and to challenge myself. I firmly believe that crochet should fun and evoke joy and pleasure. Creating and designing is one of my life's passions.
