
Loopy Love Crochet Granny Square
This Loopy Love Crochet Granny Square is fun flower themed granny square.

Materials
- Hook – 4, 00 mm (G)
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
Yarn:
Elle Family Knit (50 grams/150 meters/164 yards)
Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3: Light.
Colors: Only 5 colors are used for each square – color change indicted in pattern.
- A – sunshine (yellow)
- B – watermelon (light pink)
- C – lilac (light purple)
- D – olive (dark green)
- E – fig (dark purple)
- F – lime (light green)
- G – Rose (dark pink)
Size: 4 & 1/2 inches

Abbreviations: US Terminology
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop
RS – Right side
WS – Wrong side
SPECIAL STITCHES:
BPDC – back post double crochet
- Step 1: yarn over on hook.
- Step 2: Insert hook into hole next to the post of the next stitch, on the “hook side” from back to front
- Step 3: Bring the hook back to the back of the fabric around the post, to the hole farther from the hook.
- Step 4: yarn over and draw through a loop, bringing it through both sides of the fabric. (3 loops on hook)
- Step 5: yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook. (2 loops remaining on hook)
- Step 6: yarn over and draw through remaining 2 loops on hook.
FPDC – front post double crochet
Insert your hook into the front of your work, behind the indicated stitch, and then through your work such that your hook is now at the front of your work again. Pull through final 2 loops on your hook.
BEG CL: Make 3 CH, then yarn over insert hook into the ring;
yarn over and pull thru;
yarn over and pull thru first 2 loops ( 2 loops left on hook); yarn over hook; insert hook into ring;
yarn over and pull thru;
yarn over and pull thru first 2 loops (3 loops on hook left); yarn over and pull thru all 3 loops.
CL: Work 3DCtog (work 3 double crochet together
4DC Cluster – work 4DCtogether
INSTRUCTIONS
With color A – make a magic circle / or CH 6 and SL ST into first CH from hook.
RND 1: Work 8 SC into ring; SL ST into first SC.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Join color C into BACK LOOP of any SC with a SC.
RND 2: [CH 8; work 1 SC into next SC BACK LOOP] x 8; SL ST into first SC worked.
(8 x loops; 8 SC)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Join color B into with a SC into any loop.
RND 3: [CH 4; work 1 SC into next loop] x 8; SL ST into first SC worked.
RND 4: SL ST into next 4 CH space; *work [5 DC; 2 CH; 5 DC] into 4 CH space; work 1 DC into next SC; work 5 DC into next 4 CH space; work 1 DC into next SC. **
Repeat from * to ** 3 more times. (17 DC on each side = 68 DC)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Join color F into any 2 CH corner space.
RND 5: CH 3; work a 3 DC Cluster into SAME space; work BPDC around each DC until next 2 CH corner space. *Work 4DC Cluster into 2 CH corner space; work BPDC around each DC until next corner. ** Repeat from * to ** 2 more times; SL ST into top of 3DC Cluster.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Final Stitch Count = 17 BPDC on each side PLUS 1 x 4DC Cluster in each corner.
When blocked the Loopy Love Granny Square should be approx 4 & 1/2 inches with DK (no 3) yarn and 4.00 mm hook. Please do note this can differ due to yarn, hook and tension!
