Basic stitches, simple shaping and finishing.
Concentration required.
Yarn: Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3 : Light
Color – 1 colors – I used only 1 color (B – blue) for my border – 1 x 100 gram ( I used just approx 70 – 80 grams because this is what I had leftover of the original balls)
Hook: 4.00 mm
Notes:
Tension/Gauge is not necessary for this project to be perfect
I use US Crochet stitch terminology
Abbreviations:
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet
DC – double crochet
TR – treble crochet
THIS BORDER IS COMPLETELY OPTIONAL!
COLORS: B – blue
NOTE: This border is created by working two rounds – the first being to create the foundation for the shells in round 2.
INSTRUCTIONS:
With B – join yarn into ANY 1 CH space of blanket (not a corner space) – the most convenient place to start would be at the beginning of ANY side.
RND 1: CH 1; work 1 SC into SAME 1 CH space; CH 4;
[*work 1 SC into NEXT 1 CH space; CH 4.
Repeat from *until corner 2 CH space; work 1 SC into corner space; CH 4.]
Repeat instructions between [ ] 3 more times.
SL ST into first SC made.
RND 2: SL ST into next 4 CH loop;
work [1 SC; 1 HDC; 1 DC; 1 TR; 1 DC; 1 HDC; 1 SC; SL ST] into 4 CH loop;
* Work [1 SC; 1 HDC; 1 DC; 1 TR; 1 DC; 1 HDC; 1 SC; SL ST] into next 4 CH loop.
Repeat from * all around blanket.
SL ST into first SC made.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
