BEG CL: Make 3 CH, then yarn over insert hook into the ring;
yarn over over and pull thru;
yarn over and pull thru first 2 loops ( 2 loops left on hook); yarn over hook; insert hook into ring;
yarn over and pull thru;
yarn over and pull thru first 2 loops (3 loops on hook left); yarn over and pull thru all 3 loops.
CL: Work 3DCtog (work 3 double crochet together
COLORS: A – Sunshine (yellow); B – Watermelon (pink); C – Lilac (purple) ; D – Olive (Green); E – Fig (purple); F – Lime (green); G – Rose (pink)
INSTRUCTIONS:
NOTE: This is SQUARE FIVE – you need to make 3 for the Groovy Baby Blanket.
With color A
Make a magic ring – (need to learn how to make the magic ring? Click Here!)
RND 1: CH 4 (counts as 1 DC and 1 CH);
work [1 DC; 1 CH] x 11 into ring.
(12 DC; 12 x 1 CH spaces)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Join color E into any 1 CH space WITH a SC
RND 2: [CH 1; SKIP DC; work 1 SC into NEXT 1 CH space] x 11;
CH 1; SL ST into first SC.
(12 SC; 12 x 1 CH spaces)
RND 3: SL ST into next 1 CH space;
Work BEG CL into same 1 CH space; CH 2.
*Work CL into NEXT 1 CH space; CH 2. Repeat from * 10 more times.
Join with a SL ST into top of BEG CL.
(12 CLUSTERS; 12 x 2 CH spaces)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Join color C into ANY 2 CH space
RND 4: Work BEG CL into same 2 CH space; CH 2; work CL into same 2 CH space – first corner made;
[CH 2; SKIP next CL; work 1 HDC into next 2 CH space] x 2; CH 2;
*work [1 CL; 2 CH; 1 CL] into next 2 CH space;
[CH 2; SKIP next CL; work 1 HDC into next 2 CH space] x 2; CH 2.
Repeat from * 2 more times. SL ST into top of BEG CL.
Fasten off and weave in ends
Join color B into any 2 CH corner space
RND 5: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [2 DC; CH 2; 3 DC] into same 2 CH corner;
work 1 FPDC around next CL; work 2 DC into next 2 CH space;
work 1 BPDC around next HDC; work 3 DC into next 2 CH space;
work 1 BPDC around next HDC; work 2 DC into next 2 CH space;
work 1 FPDC around next CL.
*Work [3 DC; 2 CH; 3 DC] into next 2 CH corner space;
work 1 FPDC around next CL; work 2 DC into next 2 CH space;

*work 4DC Cluster into 2 CH corner space; work BPDC around each DC until next corner.
Repeat from * 2 more times; SL ST into top of 3DC Cluster.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Final Stitch Count = 17 BPDC on each side PLUS 1 x 4DC Cluster in each corner
When blocked the Peace Petal Flower Granny Square should be approx 4 & 1/2 inches
with DK (no 3) yarn and 4.00 mm hook.
