SKILL LEVEL:
Easy
Basic stitches, simple shaping and finishing.

Yarn: Nurturing Fibres – Eco-Cotton DK – small amounts – approx 10 grams of each color for each coaster.
Color – Mist; Ruby Pink and Willow

Hook: 3.25 mm but any hook can be used depending on size required

Notes:

Due to the nature of this pattern – the yarn and hook used is only a suggestion and any substitute may be used.

Size of finished product will vary depending on yarn and also size of hook used.

Takes about 15 min to 30 min to make one (depending on how quick you crochet)

Size: approx 12 cm in diameter

Abbreviations:
CH – chain
SC – single crochet
HDC – half double crochet
DC – double crochet

I use US Crochet stitch terminology

INSTRUCTIONS:

With Mist – Make a magic circle OR CH 6 and SL ST to form a ring;

RND 1: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 9 DC into circle/ring (10 DC); SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
RND 2: work into back-loops only for this round;
CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into SAME ST; work 2 DC into each ST all around (20 DC); SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

With Rudy Pink – join yarn into any DC;

NOTE: for this round depending on your tension – if you crochet tight CH 3 in between clusters instead of 2 CH. Your star might make a bowl if your crochet too tight.

RND 3: work into back-loops only for this round;
CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into SAME ST; CH 2; SKIP 1 DC;
*work 2 DC into next DC; CH 2; SKIP 1 DC. Repeat from * all around (10 x 2 DC clusters; 10 x 2 or 3 CH spaces)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

With Willow – join yarn into any 2 or 3 CH space

RND 4: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [2 DC; 3 CH; 3 DC] into SAME space;
*work 1 SC into NEXT 2 or 3 CH space; work [3 DC; 3 CH; 3 DC} into NEXT 2 or 3 CH space.
Repeat all around ( 5 x SC; 5 x corner clusters); SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
RND 5: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into next 2 DC;
*work [3 DC; 3 CH; 3 DC] into 3 CH corner space; work 1 DC into next 3 DC; work 1 SC into next SC;
work 1 DC into next 3 DC. Repeat from * all around; omitting last 3 DC and joining with a SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
