Easy
Basic stitches, simple shaping and finishing.
Concentration required.

Notes on the yarn – You can use any yarn really – cotton will also work great!

Materials:

  • 25 grams of double knitting/light worsted yarn in beige
  • 25 grams of double knitting/light worsted yarn in variegated yarn or any other color of your choice
  • Small amount of double knitting/light worsted yarn in cream or white
  • Size 3.50 mm Hook
  • Size 4.00 mm Hook
  • Yarn Needle
  • Stitch Marker

Size:

Basket – 14cm x 14 in diameter

Blanket – 14cm x 14cm in length and width

Made to fit my doggie – 15 cm in length and 10 cm in height

Notes:
Tension/Gauge is not necessary for this project to be perfect

My yarn and hook is only a suggestion but if you need my exact gauge it is 11 sts over 11 rows measures 5 cm x 5 cm worked with a 3.50 mm hook and the pattern stitch given in the instructions.

I use US Crochet stitch terminology

Abbreviations:
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet
HDC – half double crochet
DC – double crochet
TR – treble crochet
BLP – back loop
SC2tog – single crochet 2 together
FO – fasten off

INSTRUCTIONS:

Blanket:
With variegated or color of choice yarn and 3.50mm hook

CH32

Row 1: Work 1SC into 4th chain from hook, *skip 1CH, work 1SC into next. Repeat from * until end, turn

Row 2: CH2, work 1SC into next CH space. *Skip 1SC, work 1SC into next CH space. Repeat from * until end, turn

Repeat row 2 until work measures approx 14cm. FO and weave in ends.

Join cream yarn with a SL ST into a corner and work SL ST all around  blanket. FO and weave in ends.

Paw:
With cream yarn and 3.50mm hook

CH2

Rnd 1: Work 6SC into 2nd chain from hook, continue in the round

Rnd 2: Work 2SC into each SC from previous round (12SC)

Rnd 3: *SL ST, CH3, 2DC, CH3 , SL ST all into the next ST. Repeat from * 2 times more. SL ST into the remaining 9 STS. FO and leave a tail for sewing.

Sew onto blanket.

Basket:
With beige yarn and 4.00mm hook

This part is worked in continuous rounds so you might want to use a stitch marker.

Rnd 1: CH 2. Work 6 SC in second CH from hook. Place a stitch marker in the last SC to designate the end of the rnd.

Rnd 2: Work 2 SC in each ST around (12 SC). MM

Rnd 3: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next ST. Repeat from * around (18 SC). MM

Rnd 4: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next two STS. Repeat from * around (24 SC). MM

Rnd 5: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next three STS. Repeat from * around (30 SC). MM

Rnd 6: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next four STS. Repeat from * around (36 SC). MM

Rnd 7: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next five STS. Repeat from * around (42 SC). MM

Rnd 8: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next six STS. Repeat from * around (48 SC). MM

Rnd 9: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next seven STS. Repeat from * around (54 SC). MM

Rnd 10: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next eight STS. Repeat from * around (60 SC). MM

Rnd 11: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next nine STS. Repeat from * around (66 SC). MM

Rnd 12: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next ten STS. Repeat from * around (72 SC). MM

Rnd 13: For this round only work in backloops only – work 1 SC into each ST (72 SC)

Rnd 14: SL ST into first SC, CH 2, *skip next SC, work 1 SC into next SC. Repeat from until end of round.

Rnd 15: SL ST into 2CH, CH 2, *skip next SC, work 1 SC into next SC. Repeat from until end of round.

Row 16: TURN, CH 2, *skip next SC, work 1 SC into next SC. Repeat from until last 20 STS, leave these STS unworked.

Row 17: TURN, CH 2, *skip next SC, work 1 SC into next SC. Repeat from until of row.

Row 18 – 22: TURN, CH 2, *skip next SC, work 1 SC into next SC. Repeat from until of row. FO and weave in ends. Fold over to the outside.
