INSTRUCTIONS:

PART FIVE:

Assemble:

Step 1: Slip Stitch or Sew the two bag pieces together if you are satisfied with the width – the two sides and the bottom. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Top Trim:

Starting in a corner (side); CH 2 (this does NOT count as a stitch) –  work up HDC all along top edge in the round – (optional – I worked the first round into the back loops only); SL ST into first HDC worked.
Work approx 6 rounds in HDC – changing color randomly.

OPTIONAL HANDLES:
Using stitch markers – find the center of the bag – mark 20 sts in the center on each side.

Continue working HDC in the round – when you reach the first marker:
CH 20; SKIP the 20 STS; continue working HDC from the next marker.
Repeat when you reach the other side.
Next Rnd: – continue working into HDC all around – work 1 HDC into each CH st of 20 ST chain.
Work approx 3 rounds in HDC – changing color randomly.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

OPTIONAL OTHER HANDLES:

A – Shoulder Strap – Chain a foundation chain the length you would like your shoulder strap to be; then work HDC rows changing color randomly until you have the exact width of your sides of the bag.
Sew into position either on the inside of the bag or the outside at the sides of the bag.

B – Short Handle Straps – Chain a foundation chain the length you would like your handles to be;
then work HDC rows changing color randomly until you have the width you like.
Using stitch markers – find the center of the bag – mark 20 sts in the center on each side/Or place the markers where you would like your handles to be. Sew into position either on the inside of the bag or the outside.

NEXT PART – THE FINISHING TOUCHES (FLOWERS AND EDGING) AND HOW TO LINE THE BAG!
