Notes:

Tension/Gauge is not necessary for this project to be perfect

I use US Crochet stitch terminology

Abbreviations:

CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)

SPECIAL STITCHES:
V-st – work [1 DC; 1 CH; 1 DC] into SAME ST

BPDC – back post double crochet

• Step 1: yarn over on hook.
• Step 2: Insert hook into hole next to the post of the next stitch, on the “hook side” from back to front
• Step 3: Bring the hook back to the back of the fabric around the post, to the hole farther from the hook.
• Step 4: yarn over and draw through a loop, bringing it through both sides of the fabric. (3 loops on hook)
• Step 5: yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook. (2 loops remaining on hook)
• Step 6: yarn over and draw through remaining 2 loops on hook.

FPDC – front post double crochet

Insert your hook into the front of your work, behind the indicated stitch, and then through your work such that your hook is now at the front of your work again. Pull through final 2 loops on your hook.

F – Champagne; G – Pistachio; H – Cameo Green

PART TWO:

NOTE: Stitch count is IMPORTANT! You will AL WAYS end up with 80 at the end of your row to start the next stitch pattern – (CH, ST, SPACES); when you start a NEXT stitch pattern section – your stitch count NEEDS to be 80.
Don’t let this scare you! This is for the beginners and those who have not done these type of stitch patterns before!

Change Color to D

NOTE: you will ONLY SKIP 2 SC at the START of this next row
ROW 25: CH 4 (this counts as 1 DC and 1 CH); SKIP 2 SC; work V-st into NEXT SC; CH 1;
(SKIP 3 SC; work V-st into next SC; CH 1) 18 times;
SKIP 3 SC; work 1 DC into last SC; TURN
(19 V-sts)

NOTE: you will work the SHELL (6 DC) into the 1 CH space of the V-st
ROW 26, 28 and 30: CH 3 (this counts as 1 DC); (work 6 DC into next V-st) 19 times; work 1 DC into last DC; TURN
(19 SHELLS)

ROW 27, 29 and 31: CH 4 (counts as 1 DC and 1 CH); (work V-st in-between the 3rd and 4th DC of a SHELL) 19 times; CH 1; work 1 DC into last DC; TURN

NOTE: you will work ONLY 1 SC into the first CH space at the START of this row.
ROW 32: CH 1; work 1 SC into FIRST DC; work 1 SC into CH space;
(work 1 SC into next DC; work 1 SC into next 1 CH space; work 1 SC into next DC; work 1 SC into the SPACE BEFORE THE NEXT V-ST) 18 times;
work 1 SC into next DC; work 1 SC into next 1 CH space; work 1 SC into next DC;
work 2 SC into next 1 CH space; work 1 SC into 3rd of 4 CH; TURN

Change Color to E

ROW 33: CH 1; work 1 SC into each SC across (80 SC); TURN

ROW 34: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into each SC across (80 DC); TURN

ROW 35, 37: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work BPDC around next 3 DC;
*work FPDC around next 4 DC; work BPDC around next 4 DC.
Repeat across until LAST 4 DC; work FPDC around last 4 DC; TURN

ROW 36: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work FPDC around next 3 DC;
*work BPDC around next 4 DC; work FPDC around next 4 DC.
