The Scrapsadelic Groovy Crochet Blanket Part Three is part of a fun, unique bag worked in a variety of stitches and squares.

Abbreviations: US Terminology
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop
RS – Right side
WS – Wrong side

Special Stitches:
STANDING DC – tutorial from Moogly
BOBBLE – work 5 DC into SAME ST; remove hook from loop; insert into FIRST DC worked and back into loop;
CH 1; BOBBLE formed – note this is much like working a POPCORN – but forms a bobble when worked with SC rows.

PART THREE:
You will first work on one side of the BIG SQUARE ONLY – The RIGHT SIDE should be facing towards you!
NOTES: I worked into the back-loops of the square BUT this is optional!

change color – join into 2 CH corner space with an SC (this counts as your FIRST SC)
ROW 1: work 1 SC into each ST across; work 1 SC into corner 2 CH space (58 SC); TURN
ROW 2: CH 1; work 1 SC into each SC across (58 SC); TURN
ROW 3: CH 1; work 1 SC into next 4 SC; work BOBBLE; *work 1 SC into next 3 SC; work BOBBLE.**
Repeat from * to ** until end; work 1 SC into last SC; TURN
ROW 4: CH 1; work 1 SC into each SC and BOBBLE across (58 SC); TURN
ROW 5: CH 1; work 1 SC into each SC across (58 SC); TURN
change color
ROW 6: CH 1; work 1 SC into each SC across (58 SC); TURN
ROW 7: CH 1; work 1 SC into SC; *work BOBBLE; *work 1 SC into next 3 SC.**
Repeat from * to ** until end; work 1 SC into last 4 SC; TURN
ROW 8: CH 1; work 1 SC into each SC and BOBBLE across (58 SC); TURN
ROW 9: CH 1; work 1 SC into each SC across (58 SC);
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Small Flower Hexagon Squares: MAKE 5
NOTES: I worked into the back-loops of all the rounds BUT this is optional!
with yarn make a magic ring OR CH 6 and SL ST to form a ring
RND 1: CH 2 (does NOT count as ST); work 12 DC into ring; SL ST into FIRST DC worked.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
join new color into any DC
RND 2: CH 3 (counts as DC) or STANDING DC; work 2 DC into SAME DC; CH 1; SKIP next DC;
*work 3 DC into next DC; CH 1; SKIP next DC.**
Repeat from *to** 4 more times.; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH or top of standing DC.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
join new color into FIRST DC OF ANY 3 DC GROUP with an SC – this counts as your first SC
RND 3: work 1 SC into next 2 DC; work [1 DC; 1 CH; 1 DC] into the SKIPPED DC of RND 1;
*work 1 SC into next 3 DC; work [1 DC; 1 CH; 1 DC] into the SKIPPED DC of RND 1.**
Repeat from *to** 4 more times.; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH or top of standing DC.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
join new color into any SC BEFORE a DC – see photo
RND 4: CH 3 (counts as DC) or STANDING DC; work [1 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into same SC;
CH 3: work 1 SC into the CENTER SC OF NEXT 3 SC GROUP; CH 3;
work [2 DC; 2 CH; 2 DC] into SC AFTER next 2nd DC;
CH 3; work 1 SC into next 1 CH space (between 2 DC); CH 3;
work [2 DC; 2 CH; 2 DC] into SC BEFORE next DC;
CH 3: work 1 SC into the CENTER SC OF NEXT 3 SC GROUP; CH 3;
work [2 DC; 2 CH; 2 DC] into SC AFTER next 2nd DC;
CH 3; work 1 SC into next 1 CH space (between 2 DC); CH 3;
SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH or top of standing DC.

MY Squares are approximately 9 cm (3 & 1/5 inches) – REMEMBER YOU NEED TO MAKE 5!
