Skill Level:

Easy

Materials:

  • 2 x 50 grams of light weight worsted yarn in pink (I used 1 & 1/2 balls DK light weight worsted yarn 100% Acrylic – approx 117 m / 128 yards per ball)
  • Small amounts of light weight worsted yarn in light pink, white, black & yellow
  • Size 3.50 mm & 3.00 mm Hook
  • Yarn Needle
  • Stitch Marker

Abbreviations:

sc – single crochet

dc – double crochet

sl st – slip stitch

Gauge: Tension/Gauge is not necessary for this project to be perfect

Finished Size:

This pattern can be easily adjusted to fit any foot size.
Measure your foot from toe to heel – for example my daughter’s foot measures 16 cm

Two squares need to equal that – 1 square 8 cm x 8 cm = 16 cm

I use US Crochet stitch terminology

NOTE: This pattern was originally released as a contributor post of Oombawka Design in January 2016

Constructing The Slipper:

Position 7 squares as shown in photo above – this is the basic layout and will help with joining the squares together.

First join two squares together twice, then join these two pieces together to form a square.
Then join two squares on the sides of one square – it will be shaped like a fish 🙂

Then place the last square as shown in photo above and sew all sides to slipper to form the top part.

Then flap the ‘fins’ over and sew one fin to the side marked ONE.
Then the second fin marked TWO.
Then sew the two fins together at the back of the heel THREE.

There will only be a single gap left open where the foot will be inserted.
