Basic stitches, simple shaping and finishing.
Concentration required.

Yarn: Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3 : Light – I used cotton yarn – check the main introduction page!

Hook: 4,00 mm (G)

Size: 23 cm x 23 cm (approx. 9 inches)

Tension/Gauge is not necessary for this project to be perfect

I use US Crochet stitch terminology

Abbreviations:
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet
HDC – half double crochet
DC – double crochet
TR – treble crochet
BLP – back loop

SPECIAL STITCHES:

V-ST – work [1 DC; CH 1; 1 DC] into same space

Colors:

• Amazon – color A
• Natural – color B
• Butternut – color C
• Teal – color D
• Seafoam – color E
• Thunder – color F
• Cherry – color G

INSTRUCTIONS:

With Color B

CH 8; SL ST into first CH to form a ring

RND 1: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 15 DC into ring (16 DC);

RND 2: *SL ST in-between next 2 DC; CH 3; SKIP next 2 DC.**
Repeat from * to ** 7 more times; SL ST into 1st CH of first 3 CH loop.
(8 x 3 CH loops)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

With color C; join into any 3 CH loop

RND 3: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 2 DC into same  loop; CH 1.
*Work 3 DC into next loop; CH 1.**
Repeat from * to ** 6 more times. SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

With color F; join into any 2nd DC of a 3 DC group

RND 4: CH 4 (counts as 1 DC and 1 CH space); work 1 DC into same DC; CH 1; SKIP next DC;
work 1 TR around RND 2 SL ST; CH 1.
*SKIP next DC; work V-ST into next DC; CH 1; SKIP next DC; work 1 TR around RND 2 SL ST; CH 1.**
Repeat from * to ** 6 more times. SL ST into 3rd of 4 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

With color C; join into any 1 CH space of a V-ST

RND 5: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into same space; CH 1; work 2 DC into same space; CH 1;
work FPDC around FPTR; CH 1.
*Work [2 DC; CH 1; 2 DC] into next V-ST 1 CH space; CH 1; work FPDC around FPTR; CH 1.**
Repeat from * to ** 6 more times. SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

With color B; join into any FPDC

RND 6: CH 4 (counts as 1 TR); work [2 TR; 2 CH; 3 TR] into same ST; CH 3; work 1 SC into next 1 CH space;
CH 3; work 1 SC into next FPDC; CH 3; work 1 SC into next 1 CH space; CH 3.
*Work [3 TR; 2 CH; 3 TR] into same ST; CH 3; work 1 SC into next 1 CH space; CH 3; work 1 SC into next FPDC;
CH 3; work 1 SC into next 1 CH space; CH 3.**

RND 7: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into next 2 DC; work [2 DC; 2 CH; 2 DC] into next 2 CH corner space;

With color A; join into any 2 CH corner space

Optional: work into back-loops only

RND 8: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [1 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into same corner space; work 1 FPDC around next 2 DC;
work 1 DC into next 17 DC; work 1 FPDC around next 2 DC.
*Work [2 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into same corner space; work 1 FPDC around next 2 DC;
work 1 DC into next 17 DC; work 1 FPDC around next 2 DC.
Repeat from * to** 2 more times.
(25 STS per side – 21 DC; 4 FPDC on each side)

RND 9: SL ST into next 2 STS; CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [1 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into same corner space;
work 1 FPDC around next 4 STS; work 1 DC into next 17 DC; work 1 FPDC around next 4 STS.
*Work [2 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into same corner space; work 1 FPDC around next 4 STS;
work 1 DC into next 17 DC; work 1 FPDC around next 4 STS.

RND 10: SL ST into next 2 STS; CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [1 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into same corner space; work 1 FPDC around next 6 STS; work 1 DC into next 17 DC; work 1 FPDC around next 6 STS.
