Rustic Boho Fingerless Crochet Gloves

Difficulty Level | Skills Required

– Easy to Intermediate
Basic stitches in simple variations, simple repeats, color changes, shaping and finishing.

You will need to know basic stitches like SC (single crochet) and DC (double crochet).
Special stitches explained and provided in the instructions.

Materials

  • Hook – 3, 50 mm (E)
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle
  • 4 x 1, 5 cm/ 2 cm buttons

Yarn:
Nurturing Fibres Eco – Fusion (50 grams/125 meters)
50% Bamboo Viscose & 50 % Cotton
Weight – Sport (12 wpi) / 5 ply/ 2 Fine

8 x 10 g Bonbons = 900 – 1096 yards (823 – 1002 m)

Colours:
A – Charcoal x 2
B – Baltic x 2
C – Mist x 2
D – Persian x 1
E – Sahara x 1

Yarn Substitute:
Using the same type of yarn throughout the project is recommended. The pattern suggests DK yarn (Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3: Light Worsted), but you are not limited to this type of yarn. Any yarn can be used if you take into consideration your sizing for the project will differ.

Tension | Gauge

10 stitches and 10 rows = 5 cm
in 10 SC stitches x 10 Rows = 5 cm

Size

Approx 16 cm in length & 10 cm in width

Remember – if you use/choose a different yarn weight/hook size your gloves will be a different size!

Abbreviations:  US Terminology

CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop
RS – Right side
WS – Wrong side

Special Stitches/Notes

Shell: work 5 DC into same ST.
Picot: CH 3; SL ST into 3rd CH from hook.
Cross-Stitch: Skip SC; work 1 DC into next SC; work 1 DC into skipped DC.
V- ST: *Work [1 DC; CH 1; 1 DC] into next SC; skip next 2 SC. **repeat *-**.

Notes: You are working in rows, TURN after each row.
The CH 1 at the start of rows does NOT count as a stitch.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Note: Gloves are first worked flat then joined.

With C – CH 43.

Row 1: Work 1 SC into 2nd CH from hook; work 1 SC into each CH until end. (42 SC)
Row 2: CH 1; work 1 SC into each SC until end. (42 SC)

Change colour to B.
Row 3: CH 1; work 1 SC into each SC until end. (42 SC)
Row 4: CH 2 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into next SC; work Cross-Stitch x 19; work 1 DC into each of last 2 SC.
Row 5: CH 1; work 1 SC into each DC until end. (42 SC)

Change colour to C.
Row 6: CH 1; work 1 SC into each SC until end. (42 SC)
Row 7: CH 1; work 1 SC into each SC until end. (42 SC)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

With Esurface crochet SLIP STITCH across Row 3 & Row 5. Fasten off and weave in ends.
For RIGHT hand – Start in 7th SC of Row 7.

With A – work into back-loops only.
Row 8: CH 1; work 1 HDC into each SC until end. (36 HDC)
For LEFT hand – Start in 1st SC of Row 7.

With A – work into back-loops only.
Row 8: CH 1; work 1 HDC into next 36 SC only. (36 HDC)
Row 9-11: CH 1; work 1 HDC into each HDC until end.

Change colour to D.
Row 12: CH 1; work 1 SC into each HDC until end. (36 SC)
Row 13: CH 2 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into next 2 SC; skip next SC; V-ST x 10; work 1 DC into each of last 3 SC.

Change colour to B.
Row 15: CH 1; work 1 SC into each DC until end. (36 SC)

Row 16: CH 2 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into next 2 SC;
(work FPTR around next Row 13 DC; work 1 DC into next SC; work FPTR around next Row 13 DC) x 10 times; work 1 DC into last 3 SC.
Row 17: CH 1; work 1 SC into each ST until end. (36 SC)

Change colour to C.
Row 18: CH 1; work 1 SC into each SC until end. (36 SC)
Row 19: CH 1; work 1 HDC into each SC until end. (36 HDC)
Row 20: CH 1; work 1 SC into each HDC until end. (36 SC)

Change colour to A.
Row 21: CH 1; work 1 SC into each SC until end. (36 SC)
Row 22: CH 1; work 1 SC into first SC; (Picot; work 1 SC into next 2 SC) x 17; Picot; work 1 SC into last SC. (18 Picot)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Turn complete piece and work along foundation chain.
Row 1: CH 1; work 1 SC into first CH; skip 2 CH; (work Shell into next CH; skip 4 CH) x 7; work Shell into next CH; skip 2 CH; work 1 SC into last CH.

Change colour to E.
Row 2: CH 1; work 1 SC into first SC; CH 3; (work 1 SC into 3rd DC of Shell; CH 3; SL ST into space between Shells; CH 3) x 7; work 1 SC into 3rd Dc of Shell; CH 3; work 1 SC into last SC.

Change colour B
Row 3: CH 1; work 1 SC into first SC; work Shell into next SC) x 8; work 1 SC into last SC.

Change colour to D.
Row 4: CH 1; work 1 SC into first SC; CH 3; (work [1 SC; Picot; SC] into 3rd DC of Shell; CH 3; SL ST into space between Shells; CH 3) x 7; work [1 SC; Picot; 1 SC] into 3rd Dc of Shell; CH 3; work 1 SC into last SC.

With Esurface crochet Zig-Zag SLIP STITCH across Row 9 &10.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Finishing:

Work up 24 SC evenly along the LONG side edge – skipping Row 21 & 22
Work 15 SC evenly along the SHORT side edge – skipping Row 21 & 22
Fold piece with wrong sides facing together matching the side SC together. SL ST the top 9 SC together (finger section)
Work 9 SC along short edge of cuff; turn work 1 SC into each of 9 SC; turn
work 1 SC into first SC; (CH 4; skip 3 SC; work 1 SC into next) x 2.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Buttons:
Fold over the small piece of cuff with the button loops. Position and sew on buttons.
