Basic stitches, simple shaping and finishing. Concentration required.

Notes: Tension is NOT necessary for this project to be perfect – same type of yarn and hook throughout the project is recommended.

Yarns: Eco-Cotton DK Nurturing Fibres

Hooks & Notions:

Hook 3. 75 (F) Clover
Yarn needle

Notes:
I use US Crochet stitch terminology.
Due to the nature of this pattern – the yarn and hook used is only a suggestion and any substitute may be used.
Size of finished product will vary depending on yarn and also size of hook used.

Size: approx 13 cm (5 inches) in diameter

Abbreviations:

CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop

INSTRUCTIONS:

Colors: I only use 4 colors for each Hexagon

  • Aqua – A
  • Baltic – B
  • Vanilla – C
  • Mist – D
  • Anvil – E
  • Cobblestone – F
  • Charcoal – G
  • Pecan – H

With A

CH 6; SL ST to form a ring

RND 1: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into ring; (CH 3; work 2 DC into ring) 5 times; CH 3; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH. (6 x 2 DC groups = 12 DC) Fasten off and weave in ends.

With G – join into any 3 CH space

RND 2: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC; work [1 DC; CH 3; 2 DC] into same space; CH 1.
*Work [2 DC; CH 3; 2 DC] into next 3 CH space; CH 1.**
Repeat from * to ** 4 more times; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
(12 x 2 DC groups = 24 DC; 6 x 3 CH spaces; 6 x 1 CH spaces)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

With B – join into any 3 CH space

RND 3: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC; work [1 DC; CH 3; 2 DC] into same space; CH 2;
work 1 TR in-between RND 1 DC – Note: pull TR up to match length of your present round DC; CH 2.
*Work [2 DC; CH 3; 2 DC] into same space; CH 2; work 1 TR in-between RND 1 DC; CH 2.**
Repeat from * to ** 4 more times; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
(6 TR; 12 x 2 DC groups; 6 x 3 CH spaces; 12 x 2 CH spaces)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

With H – join into any 3 CH space

RND 4: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC; work [1 DC; CH 3; 2 DC] into same space; work 1 DC into next 2 DC;
CH 2; work FPDC around next TR; CH 2; work 1 DC into next 2 DC.
*Work [2 DC; CH 3; 2 DC] into same space; work 1 DC into next 2 DC; CH 2; work FPDC around next TR;
CH 2; work 1 DC into next 2 DC.**
Repeat from * to ** 4 more times; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
(6 x FPDC; 48 DC; 6 x 3 CH spaces; 12 x 2 CH spaces)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

With A – join into any 3 CH space

Note: for this round work into back-loops

RND 5: Work 1 SC into same space; work 1 SC into 4 DC; work 1 SC into each of next 2 CH; work 1 SC into next FPDC; work 1 SC into  each of next 2 CH; work 1 SC into next 4 DC.
*Work 1 SC into next 3 CH space; work 1 SC into 4 DC; work 1 SC into each of next 2 CH; work 1 SC into next FPDC; work 1 SC into  each of next 2 CH; work 1 SC into next 4 DC.**
Repeat from * to **  4 more times; SL ST into first SC
(13 SC per side; 6 SC – 1 for each corner) – you should have 13 STS for each side – NOT including corner SC. Fasten  off and weave in ends.
