SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet
HDC – half double crochet

TR – treble crochet
BLP – back loop

INSTRUCTIONS:

Notes: On color changing – I used 10 g mini balls of yarn – so I continued on with a new color wherever the old one ended. So my color changes are irregular. This is COMPLETELY OPTIONAL.
You can change color at the start of each round/or at the start of a new stitch variation.
This is completely up to you!

For this fourth section I used approx 20 g of yarn – 42 x 10 g;

Top Bag – Embellishment:

For this part you will hold the bag’s top facing towards you and you will work with the exposed loops of RND 32 & RND 34.

Starting in a RND 34 loop –  I started with the first one of the farthest right hand side;
work 1 SC; CH 3; now skip the loop directly above (RND 32); and SL ST into the next one; CH 3;
*skip 1 loop (RND 34); work 1 SC into next 2 loops; CH 3; skip 2 loops (RND 32); SL ST into the next one; CH 3.**
Repeat from * to ** all around; SL ST into first SC worked.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Bottom Bag – Embellishment:

For this part you will hold the bag’s top facing towards you:

For this part you will be working behind the two loops of RND 7 (HDC stitches); starting in the first stitch on the farthest right.

*Work 1 SC into HDC; CH 7; work 3DCtog (3 double crochet stitches together) into into 4th CH from hook; CH 2; SKIP 2 HDC.** Repeat from * to ** all around; SL ST into first SC worked.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Flower Embellishment:

With yarn make a magic ring/or CH 6; S ST to form a ring.

RND 1: CH 3; work 11 DC into ring. (12 DC) SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH;
RND 2: CH 1; work 1 SC into first DC; *CH 4; SKIP 1 DC; work 1 SC into next DC.**
Repeat from * to ** 5 more times; SL ST into first SC worked.
RND 3: (Work [1 SC; 1 HDC; 1 DC; 1 CH; 1 DC; 1 HDC; 1 SC] into 4 CH.) x 6; SL ST into first SC worked.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Join new yarn with a BPSC around RND 2 SC;
RND 4: (CH 5; work BPSC around next RND 2 SC.) x 6; SL ST into first BPSC worked.
RND 5: (Work [1 SC; 1 HDC; 1 DC; 1 TR; 1 CH;1 TR 1 DC; 1 HDC; 1 SC] into 5 CH.) x 6; SL ST into first SC worked.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Optional Curls:

Join yarn into any RND 4 SC; CH 15/20/30 or how long you would like the curls.
Work 3 HDC into 2nd CH from hook; work 3 HDC into each CH until end.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Repeat instructions for as many curls as you want.

Finishing The Bag:

Use a flower or button and sew loose strap end to opposite side of bag!

You can also if preferred line your bag – check how to here:

My bag measures approx 12 inches (30 cm) in length – this will differ if you used a different yarn and hook!
