Easy – Basic stitches, simple shaping and finishing.

Approx 12 cm x 12 cm (5 inches) – single square only
MATERIALS:
Yarn: Vinnis Colour Nikkim DK
A – Natural approx 20/30 g
B – Avocado approx 20/30 g
C –Tomato approx 30/40 g
Hooks & Notions:
Size 3.50 mm

Notes: Tension is NOT necessary for this project to be perfect – same type of yarn and hook throughout the project is recommended.
Notes:
I use US Crochet stitch terminology.
Due to the nature of this pattern – the yarn and hook used is only a suggestion and any substitute may be used.
Size of finished product will vary depending on yarn and also size of hook used.
Abbreviations:
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop
FPDC – front post double crochet
FPTR – front post treble crochet

INSTRUCTIONS
With A – make a magic ring/or CH 6; SL ST into first CH to form a ring.
RND 1: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC)/or Standing DC into ring; work 11 DC into ring; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH/or top of Standing DC.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Special Stitch:
Starting Cluster – CH 3 (counts as 1 DC)/or Standing DC; work 3 double crochet stitches together into same stitch; CH 1 to close the Cluster.
Cluster – work 4 double crochet stitches together into same stitch to form a single stitch; CH 1 to close the Cluster.
With B – join into any DC.
RND 2: Work Starting Cluster into DC; SKIP next DC; CH 3.
*Work Cluster into next DC; SKIP next DC; CH 3.** Repeat from * to ** 4 more times; SL ST into top of starting Cluster.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
With C – join into any 3 CH space.
RND 3: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC)/or Standing DC into 3 CH space; work 1 FPTR around SKIPPED DC; work 1 DC into SAME 3 CH space; CH 3.
*Work [1 DC; 1 FPTR around SKIPPED DC; 1 DC into next 3 CH space; CH 3.**
Repeat from * to ** 4 more times; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH/or top of Standing DC.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
With A – join into any 3 CH space.
RND 4: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC)/or Standing DC into 3 CH space; work 1 FPDC around Cluster; work 1 DC into SAME 3 CH space; work 1 FPDC around next DC; work 1 FPDC around next FPTR; work 1 FPDC around next DC.
*Work [1 DC; 1 FPDC around Cluster; 1 DC] into next 3 CH space; work 1 FPDC around next DC; work 1 FPDC around next FPTR; work 1 FPDC around next DC.**
Repeat from * to ** 4 more times; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH/or top of Standing DC.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
With B – join into any ST
RND 5: Work 1 SC into each ST all around; SL ST into first SC worked.
(36 SC) Fasten off and weave in ends.
With C – join into ANY SC work into a FPDC worked around a Cluster.
RND 6: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC)/or Standing DC; work [1 DC; 2 CH; 2 DC] into same SC; (SKIP next 2 SC; CH 2; work 1 SC into next SC) x 2 times; SKIP next 2 SC; CH 2.
*Work [2 DC; 2 CH; 2 DC] into next SC; (SKIP next 2 SC; CH 2; work 1 SC into next SC) x 2 times; SKIP next 2 SC; CH 2.**
Repeat from * to ** 2 more times; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH/or top of Standing DC.
RND 7: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 1 DC into next DC; work [2 DC; 2 CH; 2 DC] into next 2 CH corner space; work 1 DC into next 2 DC; (work 1 DC into next 2 CH space; work 1 DC into next SC) x 2 times; work 1 DC into next 2 CH space.
*Work 1 DC into next 2 DC; work [2 DC; 2 CH; 2 DC] into next 2 CH corner space; work 1 DC into next 2 DC; (work 1 DC into next 2 CH space; work 1 DC into next SC) x 2 times; work 1 DC into next 2 CH space.** Repeat from * to ** 2 more times; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.

With B – join into any 2 CH corner space.
RND 8: *Work [1 SC; 2 CH; 1 SC] into corner space; (CH 3; SKIP next DC; work 1 SC into next SC) x 6; CH 3. ** Repeat from * to ** 3 more times; SL ST into first SC worked.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
To join squares with RND 8.
Work [1 SC; 2 CH; 1 SC] into corner space; (CH 1; SL ST into opposite 3 CH space; CH 1; SKIP next DC; work 1 SC into next SC) x 6; CH 3.
Repeat these instructions for the joining sides of your squares.
