Crochet Ice Cream Play Food

Bake up these cute Crochet Ice Cream Play Food. Perfect for a little baker.

Crochet Ice Cream Play Food – Free Crochet Pattern
Supplies/Materials:
- Yarn – MoYa 100% Cotton Double Knit – approx 26/30 yards (24/28 meters); Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3 : Light.
- Hook – 3, 50 mm (E) – I used Clover
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
- Stuffing – very small amount.
Abbreviations: US Terminology
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop
Gauge:
With yarn listed and 3, 50 mm (E) hook cupcake should approx measure 4 inches in length (10 cm) all depending on stuffing. However gauge is NOT necessary for this project to be perfect
Finished Size:
4 inches in length (10 cm).
Pattern Notes:
Due to the nature of this pattern – the yarn and hook used is only a suggestion and any substitute may be used.
Size of finished product will vary depending on yarn and also size of hook used.
Instructions:
Yarn suggestions – natural, chestnut, chocolate, burnt fudge or sepia.
Rnd 1: Work 5 SC into ring. Place a stitch marker in the last SC to designate the end of the rnd.
Rnd 2: Work 2 SC into next ST, 1 SC into next 4 STS around (6 SC).
Rnd 3: *Work 2 SC into next ST and 1 SC into next 2 STS.** Repeat from * to ** all around (8 SC).
Rnd 4: Work 1 SC into all STS around (8 SC).
Rnd 5: *Work 2 SC into next ST and 1 SC into next 3 STS.** Repeat from * to ** all around (10 SC).
Rnd 6: Work 1 SC into all STS around (10 SC).
Rnd 7: *Work 2 SC into next ST and 1 SC into next 4 STS.** Repeat from * to ** all around (12 SC).
Rnd 8: Work 1 SC into all STS around (10 SC).
Rnd 9: *Work 2 SC into next ST and 1 SC into next 5 STS.** Repeat from * to ** all around (14 SC).
Rnd 10: Work 1 SC into all STS around (14 SC).
Rnd 11: *Work 2 SC into next ST and 1 SC into next 6 STS.** Repeat from * to ** all around (16 SC).
Rnd 12: Work 1 SC into all STS around (16 SC).
Rnd 13: *Work 2 SC into next ST and 1 SC into next 7 STS.** Repeat from * to ** all around (18 SC).
Rnd 14: Work 1 SC into all STS around (16 SC).
Rnd 15: *Work 2 SC into next ST and 1 SC into next 8 STS.** Repeat from * to ** all around (20 SC).
Rnd 16: Work 1 SC into all STS around (20 SC).
Fasten off and leave a short tail, it will be hidden inside the base when ice cream is assembled.
Ice Cream:
SC2tog – single crochet 2 stitches together.
Rnd 1: Work 6 SC into ring. Place a stitch marker in the last SC to designate the end of the rnd.
Rnd 2: Work 2 SC into each ST all around (12 SC).
Rnd 3: *Work 2 SC into next ST and 1 SC in next ST.** Repeat from *to ** all around (18 SC).
Rnd 4: *Work 2 SC into next ST and 1 SC in next two STS.** Repeat from * to ** all around (24 SC).
Rnd 5 – 7: Work 1 SC into each ST all around (24 SC).
Rnd 8: *SC2tog across next two STS and SC in next three STS.** Repeat from *to ** around (24 SC).
Rnd 9: *SC2tog across next two STS and SC in next two STS.** Repeat from * to ** around (18 SC).
Rnd 10: Working in front loops only – *SL ST, 2 HDC into next SC.** Repeat from * to ** all around.
Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.
How To Assemble:
Stuff cone and ice cream parts, attach ice cream to cone. Weave in all ends.
