Adventurous Beginner to Intermediate
Basic stitches in simple variations, simple repeats, color changes, shaping and finishing.
You will need to know basic stitches like SC (single crochet) and DC (double crochet).
Supplies/Materials:
- Yarn –Vinnis Colours Serina (bamboo yarn) approx 2904 yards (2664 meters) 24 x 50 g balls
Weight – Sport (12 wpi) - Hook – 3, 50 mm (E) – Clover
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
Colors:
A – Crimson 50 g x 2
B – Nomvula’s Tangerine 50 g x 2
C – Mustard 50 g x 2
D – Baby Yellow 50 g x 2
E – Army 50 g x 8
F – Sunshine 50 g x 2
G – Golden 50 g x 2
H – Chocolate 50 g x 2
I – Dark Chocolate 50 g x 2
Yarn Substitute:
Using the same type of yarn throughout the project is recommended. The pattern suggests DK/sport yarn, but you are not limited to this type of yarn. Any yarn can be used if you take into consideration your sizing for the project will differ.
Gauge:
Not necessary for this project to be perfect – however same yarn recommended throughout.
Finished Size:
Approx. 32 inch (81 cm) in width,
approx. 52 inch (131 cm) in length.
Remember – if you use/choose a different yarn weight/hook size your blanket will be a different size!

Solid Square:
Make 10 in each color
= 40 squares in total.
With Baby Yellow/Mustard/Nomvula’s Tangerine/Crimson:
Make a Magic Ring/ or CH 6, SL ST to form a ring.
RND 1: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 2 DC into ring; CH 1; *work 3 DC into ring; CH 1. ** Repeat from *to** 4 more times.
SL ST into 3rd CH of 3CH.
RND 2: SL ST into next 2 DC; SL ST into next 1 CH space; CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [2 DC; CH 1; 3 DC] into same space; CH 1. *Work [3 DC; CH 1; 3 DC] into next 1 CH space; CH 1. Repeat from * 4 more times.
SL ST into 3rd CH of 3CH.
RND 3: SL ST into next 2 DC; SL ST into next 1 CH space; CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 2 DC into same space; CH 1. *Work 3 DC; CH 1 into next CH space. Repeat from * until end.
(12 DC clusters).
SL ST into 3rd CH of 3CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
With E (Army):
Join into any 1 CH space.
RND 4: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [2 DC; CH 3; 3 DC] into same space (corner made); CH 1; (work 3 SC into next 1 CH space; CH 1) twice.
*Work [3 DC; CH 3; 3 DC] into next 1 CH space (corner made); CH 1; (work 3 SC into next 1 CH space; CH 1) twice. **
Repeat from * to ** 2 more times. SL ST into 3rd CH of 3CH;
SL ST into next 2 DC; SL ST into next 3 CH space.
RND 5: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [2 DC; CH 3; 3 DC] into corner space; CH 1; (work 3 DC into next 1 CH space; CH 1) 3 times.

Make 8 in each color
= 32 squares in total.
