With Tomato/Fern

Notes: Make 2 – one for front and one for back.

Cast on 25 stitches (for smaller you can do 15/20) sizing depends on your requirements!

Knit each row until you have an approx. 5 inch (12 cm) square.
Cast off.

Cross-Stitch Christmas Tree/Gift onto front panel:
Tree – dark green and light green
I embroidered French knots with baby yellow for ornaments of the tree.

You can use the chart below as a guide – this was the chart I had used for my crochet pattern!

Bag Assembly:

With wrong sides facing, seam stitch with a yarn and needle the two sides and bottom together.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Insert organza bag and sew to knitted opening – making sure to concentrate and not sew the opening of either bag closed.

How the Holiday Stashbusting KAL Works

I’ve teamed up with Marie from Underground Crafter, Pia from Stitches ‘N’ Scraps, Joanita from Creative Crochet Workshop, and other knitting designers to bring you 9 free knit patterns to make gifts or decorations for the winter holidays! Each pattern will be a one-skein project or a “scrappy” project made with less than 100 yards in each color used, so you can work from your own stash if you’d like.

Every other Wednesday from August 18 through December 8, 2021, we’ll share a free knitting pattern. We’ve partnered with Fangirl Fibers to bring you a great prize for our end-of-KAL giveaway. Don’t forget to enter the giveaway in this post on Underground Crafter by Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern.

How To Join the Holiday Stashbusting KAL

I have been a crochet designer for more than 10 years. I love to think outside the box and to try and do things a bit differently. I love to learn new techniques and to challenge myself. I firmly believe that crochet should fun and evoke joy and pleasure. Creating and designing is one of my life's passions.

“Crochet is an art and crocheters it’s artists. Each crafted item is unique and own to its crafter”
