Abbreviations: US Terminology
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop
RS – Right side
WS – Wrong side
Special Stitches:
How to Work Crochet Popcorn Stitch:
Starting Popcorn:
- CH 3 – this counts as your FIRST DC.
- Work 4 double crochet (dc) stitches in the same stitch.
- Drop the loop from your hook.
- Insert your hook from front to back under the top 2 loops of the first double crochet of the group.
- Grab the dropped loop with your hook and pull it through the stitch.
Popcorn:
- Work 5 double crochet (dc) stitches in the same stitch.
- Drop the loop from your hook.
- Insert your hook from front to back under the top 2 loops of the first double crochet of the group.
- Grab the dropped loop with your hook and pull it through the stitch.

How to Work Front-Post Double-Crochet (FPDC):
- Yarn over and insert your hook from front to back between the posts of the first and second stitch of the row/round below, and then from back to front again between the posts of the second and third stitches.
- The hook should now be positioned horizontally behind the stitch that you’re working around.
- Yarn over and draw the yarn around the post of the stitch.
- You now have 3 loops on the hook.
- Yarn over and draw the yarn through the 2 loops on the hook, twice.
- One front post double crochet (FPDC) is complete.

How to Work 3 Double Crochet Bobble Cluster Stitch (3DC Bobble Cluster):
- Yarn over and insert hook from front to back into stitch.
- *Yarn over and draw through stitch. (3 loops)
- Yarn over, draw through first two loops. (2 loops)
- Yarn over and insert hook into SAME stitch.**
- Repeat instructions from * to ** twice. (4 loops)
- Yarn over and draw through all 4 loop on the hook.
- One 3 Double Crochet Cluster Bobble Stitch complete.

How to Work Crossed Double Stitch:
For the crossed double crochet stitch (abbreviated crossed dc), you work two double crochet stitches on an angle. When you make a crossed double crochet stitch, you end up with a pattern that looks like an X.
- Work 1 double crochet stitch into the next stitch.
- Work 1 double crochet stitch into the SKIPPED stitch.

The Squares – continued from part two
With A (BOTH CW)– join into any 2 CH corner space.
RND 21: Work 3 SC into corner space; work 1 SC into each DC across.
*Work 3 SC into next corner space; work 1 SC into each DC across.**
Repeat from * to ** 2 more times; SL ST into first SC worked.
(62 SC on each side excluding 3 SC in each corner = 248 SC in Total)
RND 22: SL ST into next SC; CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [1 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into next SC; CH 2; (work 4DCtog; CH 4) x 15 times; work 4DCtog; CH 2.
*Work [2 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into next SC; CH 2; (work 4DCtog; CH 4) x 15 times; work 4DCtog; CH 2.** Repeat from * to ** 2 more times; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
(16 x 4DCtog; 15 x 4 CH spaces; 2 x 2 CH spaces – on each side; 16 DC; 4 x 2 CH corner spaces)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
With (CW 1 – C/G | CW 2 – B) – join into any 2 CH corner space.
RND 23: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [1 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into SAME space; CH 2; work Popcorn into next 2 CH space; CH 4; (work Popcorn into next 4 CH space; CH 4) x 15 times; work Popcorn into next 2 CH space; CH 2.
*Work [2 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into next 2 CH space; CH 2; work Popcorn into next 2 CH space; CH 4; (work Popcorn into next 4 CH space; CH 4) x 15 times; work Popcorn into next 2 CH space; CH 2.**
Repeat from * to **2 more times; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
(17 Popcorns; 16 x 4 CH spaces; 2 x 2 CH spaces – on each side; 16 DC; 4 x 2 CH corner spaces)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
With (CW 1 – D/H | CW 2 – C) – join into any 2 CH space.
RND 24: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [1 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into SAME space; work 1 DC into next 2 DC; work 1 DC into 2 CH space; (work 1 FPDC around next Popcorn; work 2 DC into next 4 CH space) x 16 times; work 1 FPDC around next Popcorn; work 1 DC into next 2 CH space; work 1 DC into next 2 DC.
*Work [2 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into next 2 CH space; work 1 DC into next 2 DC; work 1 DC into 2 CH space; (work 1 FPDC around next Popcorn; work 2 DC into next 4 CH space) x 16 times; work 1 FPDC around next Popcorn; work 1 DC into next 2 CH space; work 1 DC into next 2 DC.**

(17 FPDC; 42 DC – on each side = 59 STS) Fasten off and weave in ends.
With (CW 1 – E/I | CW 2 – D)– join into any 2 CH corner space.
RND 25: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [1 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into SAME space; work 1 FPDC around each of next 59 STS.
*Work [2 DC; CH 2; 2 DC] into next 2 CH space; work 1 FPDC around each of next 59 STS.**
Repeat from * to ** 2 more times; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
(59 FPDC on each side = 236 FPDC; 16 DC; 4 x 2 CH spaces)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
