Abbreviations: US Terminology
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop
RS – Right side
WS – Wrong side

Special Stitches:
How to Work Front-Post Double-Crochet (FPDC):
- Yarn over and insert your hook from front to back between the posts of the first and second stitch of the row/round below, and then from back to front again between the posts of the second and third stitches.
- The hook should now be positioned horizontally behind the stitch that you’re working around.
- Yarn over and draw the yarn around the post of the stitch.
- You now have 3 loops on the hook.
- Yarn over and draw the yarn through the 2 loops on the hook, twice.
- One front post double crochet (FPDC) is complete.

Instructions:
With A – join into the top of any HDC Popcorn.
RND 62: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [1 DC; 2 CH; 2 DC] into same popcorn; SKIP next 1 CH space; work 1 DC into each of next 169 HDC; SKIP next 1 CH space.
*Work [2 DC; 2 CH; 2 DC] into top of next HDC Popcorn; SKIP next 1 CH space; work 1 DC into each of next 169 HDC; SKIP next 1 CH space. **
Repeat from * to ** 2 more times; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
(173 DC on each side; 4 x 2 CH corner spaces)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
With B – join into any 2 CH corner space.
RND 63: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [1 DC; 2 CH; 2 DC] into corner space; SKIP next DC; work 1 FPDC around each of next 171 DC; SKIP last DC.
*Work [2 DC; 2 CH; 2 DC] into corner space; SKIP next DC; work 1 FPDC around each of next 171 DC; SKIP last DC. ** Repeat from * to ** 2 more times; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
(173 FPDC; 4 DC on each side; 4 x 2 CH corner spaces)
Fasten off and weave in ends
With C – join into any 2 CH corner space.
RND 64: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [1 DC; 2 CH; 2 DC] into corner space; SKIP next DC; work 1 FPDC around next DC; work 1 FPDC around each of next 173 FPDC; work 1 FPDC around next DC; SKIP last DC.
*Work [2 DC; 2 CH; 2 DC] into corner space; SKIP next DC; work 1 FPDC around next DC; work 1 FPDC around each of next 173 FPDC; work 1 FPDC around next DC; SKIP last DC. ** Repeat from * to ** 2 more times; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.

Fasten off and weave in ends
With G – SL ST into any 2 CH corner space.
Scallop Instructions: SL ST into ST; CH 3; work 2 DC into SAME ST.
RND 68: CH 3; SL ST into SAME corner; [work Scallop into next FPDC; SKIP next 2 FPDC] x 61 times. *SL ST into next 2 CH corner space; CH 3; SL ST into same corner; [work Scallop into next FPDC; SKIP next 2 FPDC] x 61 times. **
Repeat from * to ** 2 more times; SL ST into first SL ST worked.
(61 Scallops on each side; 4 x 2 CH corner spaces)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Should measure approx. 48 x 48 inches (123 x 123 cm)
Remember – if you used a different yarn and hook – size will differ.
