Scrapsumptious Crochet Blanket

Basic stitches in simple variations, shaping and finishing.
You will need to know basic stitches like SC (single crochet).
Special stitches explained and provided in the instructions.
Materials
- Hook – 4, 00 mm (G)
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
Yarn:
Vinnis Colours – DK Nikkim 100% cotton (50 grams/119 meters)
Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3: Light.
Approx. 18 x balls / 2142 meters / 2340 yards
- A – Dunes x 2
- B – Mint x 4
- C – Princess Turquoise x 3
- D – Turquoise x 3
- E – Peacock x 3
- F – Princess Mink x 1
- G – Cappuccino x 2
Yarn Substitute:
Using the same type of yarn throughout the project is recommended. The pattern suggests DK yarn (Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3: Light Worsted), but you are not limited to this type of yarn. Any yarn can be used if you take into consideration your sizing for the project will differ.
Tension | Gauge
Gauge is NOT necessary for this project to be perfect.
However COUNTING your stitches will ensure a true success of this project!
Size
Square Blanket – approx. 102 x 102 cm (40 x 40 inches)
Remember – if you use/choose a different yarn weight/hook size your blanket will be a different size!

INSTRUCTIONS:
Part Nine – Triangle + Joining; RND 42-43
Border Round:
Note: Because of the uneven amount of 3 DC groups on each side, a little bit of magic was required to make the border round work, please read next round instructions first before continuing.
With B – join into the 3rd (center) DC of a 5 DC corner group.
RND 50: CH 4 (counts as 1 TR); work 6 TR into SAME DC; [work 1 SC into center DC of next 3 DC group; work 7 TR into center DC of next 3 DC group] x 12 times; work 1 SC in-between the next 2 3 DC groups; [work 7 TR into center of next 3 DC group; work 1 SC into center DC of next 3 DC group] x 12 times.
*Work 7 TR into the 3rd (center) DC of next 5 DC corner group; [work 1 SC into center DC of next 3 DC group; work 7 TR into center DC of next 3 DC group] x 12 times; work 1 SC in-between the next 2 3 DC groups; [work 7 TR into center of next 3 DC group; work 1 SC into center DC of next 3 DC group] x 12 times. ** SL ST into 4th of 4 CH.
(24 x 7 TR Shells on each side; 25 x SC on each side; 4 x 7 TR Corner Shells)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
