This Blossom Stitch Crochet Dishcloth is a quick and fun dishcloth to whip up for the kitchen.

Basic stitches in simple variations, simple repeats, color changes, shaping and finishing.
You will need to know basic stitches like SC (single crochet) and DC (double crochet).
Special stitches explained and provided in the instructions.
Materials
- Hook – 4, 00 mm (G)
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
Yarn:
Moya – DK 100% cotton (50 grams/135 meters/148 yards)
Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3: Light.
2 balls
- 1 x forest (variegated)
- 1 x burnt fudge
Yarn Substitute:
Using the same type of yarn throughout the project is recommended. The pattern suggests DK yarn (Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3: Light Worsted), but you are not limited to this type of yarn. Any yarn can be used if you take into consideration your sizing for the project will differ.
Tension | Gauge
Gauge is NOT necessary for this project to be perfect.
However COUNTING your stitches will ensure a true success of this project!
Size
Approx. Length = 20 inch / 50 cm Width = 9 inches / 23 cm
Remember – if you use/choose a different yarn weight/hook size your dishcloth will be a different size!

- This dishcloth can be made into any size. Pattern stitch is easily adjustable.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Multiple – 4 sts plus 1
The Blossom stitch is a beautiful stitch combining columns of the ‘V’ stitch and chain spaces. It is a fairy dense pattern that is easy to shape and would be suitable for projects like hats, scarves and gloves.
Dishcloth:
With A – CH 41
ROW 1: Work V-ST (special stitches) into 3rd CH from hook; *SKIP next 1 CH; work 1 DC into next CH; SKIP next 1 CH; work V-ST into next CH. **
Repeat from * to ** to last 2 CH; SKIP next 1 CH; work 1 SC into last CH; TURN.
ROW 2: CH 4; SKIP first SC and next DC; *work 1 SC into next 1 CH space; CH 1; SKIP next DC; work 1 DC into next SC; CH 1; SKIP next DC. ** Repeat from * to ** to last 1 CH space and DC; work 1 SC into last 1 CH space; CH 1; work 1 DC into last DC; TURN.
ROW 3: CH 1; SKIP first DC; *SKIP next 1 CH space; work V-ST into next SC; SKIP next 1 CH space; work 1 SC into next DC. ** Repeat from * to ** working last SC into 3rd of 4 CH; TURN.
Repeat ROW 2 and 3 until the desired length is reached. My dishcloth used a complete ball and measured approx. 15 inches / 38 cm in length without the Trim.
End with ROW 2 and fasten off and weave in ends.
Trim:
With B – join into 3rd of 4 CH with a SC.
ROW 1: Work 1 SC into each CH space, DC and SC across – ending with a SC in last DC. (40 SC); TURN.
ROW 2-3: CH 1; work 1 SC into each SC across; (40 SC); TURN.
ROW 4: SC2tog x 20 (20 STS); TURN.
ROW 5-7: CH 1; work 1 SC into each SC across; (20 SC); TURN.
ROW 8: SC2tog x 10 (10 STS); TURN.
ROW 9-11: CH 1; work 1 SC into each SC across; (10 SC); TURN.
ROW 12: SC2tog x 5 (5 STS); TURN.
ROW 13-15: CH 1; work 1 SC into each SC across; (5 SC); TURN.
Hook Loop:
CH 10; SL ST into last SC; work 1 SC into each CH of the 10 CH loop; SL ST into SC.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Heart Applique:
With B – make a magic ring/ or CH 6; SL ST into first CH to form a ring.
RND 1: Work 9 SC into ring; SL ST into first SC worked.

RND 2: CH 3; work 1 TR into SAME SC; work 2 TR into next SC; work 2 DC into next SC; work 2 DC into next SC; work [1 TR; Picot; 1 TR] into next SC; work 2 DC into next SC; work 2 DC into next SC; work 2 TR into next SC; work 1 TR into next SC; CH 3; SL ST into SAME SC.
RND 3: SL ST into each of next 3 CH; CH 2; work 1 DC into next TR; (work 2 DC into next TR) x 2 times; (work 1 DC into next DC) x 3 times; (work 1 DC into next DC) x 3 times; work 1 DC into next TR; work 3 SC into next Picot; work 1 DC into next TR; (work 1 DC into next DC) x 3 times; (work 1 DC into next DC) x 3 times; (work 2 DC into next TR) x 2 times; work 1 DC into next TR; CH 2; SL ST into top of 3 CH.
Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.
Attach heart to bottom section of dishcloth.
