Christmas Flower Crochet Coaster

SKILL LEVEL:
EASY (Although the stitching looks complicated, it is quite easy to do! )

MATERIALS:
Any light/medium worsted yarn;
small amounts of red, green and yellow
Hook – 3,50/ 3.25 mm (light worsted yarn) or 4,50/4,00 mm (medium worsted yarn)

TENSION/GAUGE: is not important for completing this project successfully

SIZE: 15 cm in diameter using a 3.25 mm hook and light worsted yarn

I used leftover Scheepjes Stonewashed (78% cotton and 22% Acrylic)

CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop
RS – Right side
WS – Wrong side

INSTRUCTIONS:

With yellow yarn make a magic circle

RND 1: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 14 DC into ring (15 DC), then SL ST into 3rd CH of 3 CH.

RND 2: *CH 10; SKIP 2 STS; then SL ST into next ST. Repeat from * 4 more times.
Fasten off and then weave in ends.

RND 3: Join green yarn with a SC into any 10 CH loop; *CH 12; SL ST into 8th CH from hook; CH 5;
then work 1 SC into next 10 CH loop. Repeat from * 4 more times; omitting the last SC; SL ST into first SC.

RND 4: CH 1; work 1 SC into same ST; *work [1 TR; CH 1] x 11 into the loop; then work 1 SC into next SC.
Repeat from * 4 more times; omitting the last SC; SL ST into first SC.
Fasten off and then weave in ends.

RND 5: Join Red yarn into any 1st TR of a 11 TR group;
CH 1; work 1 SC into first TR; then work 1 SC into next 1 CH space;
*work 1 SC into next TR; then work 1 SC into next 1 CH space.
Repeat from * 3 more times; work 1 SC into next TR; CH 3; SL ST into 3rd CH from hook;
work 1 SC into same TR; then work 1 SC into next 1 CH space;
*work 1 SC into next TR; then work 1 SC into next 1 CH space.
Repeat from * 4 more times; work 1 SC into the last TR of 11 TR group.

[Work 1 SC into the first TR of next 11 TR group; then work 1 SC into next 1 CH space;
*work 1 SC into next TR; then work 1 SC into next 1 CH space.
Repeat from * 3 more times; work 1 SC into next TR; CH 3; SL ST into 3rd CH from hook;
