
Christmas Mini Tree Crochet Stocking
This cute Christmas Mini Tree Crochet Stocking is a quick gift or ornament to whip up.

Christmas Mini Tree Crochet Stocking
Difficulty Level | Skills Required
Easy
Basic stitches, simple shaping and finishing.
Yarns:
Scheepjes Cotton 8 (4 ply) – 4 colors – green (2 variants); cream and gold beige
Small amounts approx 20 – 50 yards
For the stars I used – Vinnis Colours – Nikkim 100% cotton yarn – Ruby Grapefruit
Hooks & Notions:
Hook 3.2 5mm
Yarn needle
Notes:
Due to the nature of this pattern – the yarn and hook used is only a suggestion and any substitute may be used.
Size of finished product will vary depending on yarn and also size of hook used.
Size: approx 4 inches in length (10 cm)

Abbreviations: US Terminology
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop
RS – Right side
WS – Wrong side

INSTRUCTIONS:
NOTE: for each sock – I changed colors randomly – making each sock different!
TOE:
with yarn make a magic ring
RND 1: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 11 DC into ring; SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH;
RND 2: CH 2 (does NOT count as a ST); work 2 HDC into each DC all around (24 HDC); SL ST into first HDC worked.
RND 3-6: CH 2 (does NOT count as a ST); work 1 HDC into each DC all around (24 HDC); SL ST into first HDC worked.
FORMING THE HEEL:
ROW 7: [Note – the following is worked over the next 14 STS]
CH 1; work 1 SC into same ST as 1 CH; work 1 HDC into next ST; work 1 DC into next 8 STS;
work 1 HDC into next ST; work 1 SC into next ST; SL ST into next ST. TURN
Note – the inside of the sock will now be facing you
ROW 8: CH 1; SKIP ST; SL ST into next ST; work 1 SC into next ST; work 1 HDC into next; work 1 DC into next 4 STS; work 1 HDC into next ST; work 1 SC into next ST; SKIP ST; SL ST into next ST. TURN
ROW 9: CH 1; SKIP ST; SL ST into next ST; work 1 SC into next ST; work 1 HDC into next ST; work 1 DC into next 2 STS; work 1 HDC into next ST; work 1 SC into next ST; SKIP ST; work 1 SL ST into next ST.
DO NOT TURN – continue in the round;
ANKLE/LEG:
RND 10: CH 2 (does NOT count as a ST);; work 1 HDC into each ST all around – you should have 24 HDC at the end of the round; SL ST into first HDC worked.
RND 11-18: CH 2 (does NOT count as a ST); work 1 HDC into each DC all around (24 HDC); SL ST into first HDC worked.
RND 19: CH 1; work 1 SC into each HDC all around – the loop – CH 10; SL ST into first SC worked.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
STARS:
Make a magic ring;
RND 1: work 10 SC into ring;
RND 2: SL ST into first SC worked; CH 4; work 1 SC into 2nd CH from hook;
work 1 HDC into next CH; work 1 DC into last CH.
*SL ST into next 2 SC; CH 4; work 1 SC into 2nd CH from hook;
work 1 HDC into next CH; work 1 DC into last CH.**
Repeat from * to ** 3 more times.
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
Sew each star onto a stocking!
