Hooks & Notions:
-Size
4.00 mm Hook
-Yarn Needle
I use US Crochet stitch terminology
Abbreviations:
SC – single crochet
HDC – half double crochet
SPECIAL STITCH – Bean Stitch (BS)
– [Insert hook into ST, yarn over, pull loop thru] x 3 (6 loops on hook), yarn over and pull through all 6 loops.
The Bean Stitch is almost worked like a Puff Stitch – but the first yarn over as with a puff stitch is left out – which gives the Bean Stitch it’s slanted look.
Note: When working into a Bean Stitch – each Bean Stitch has two STS, insert hook into the left ST (its bigger!)
Meladora’s Creations – has video tutorials for Right Hand & Left Hand.
Size of Front & Back Pieces: approx 40 cm in width and 29-30 cm in length
Please note this all depends on your hook, yarn and crochet tension
Tension/Gauge is not necessary to be perfect for this project – your front and back pieces should be relatively the same size
INSTRUCTIONS:
SEWING THE 6 SQUARES TOGETHER:
With yarn needle and matching yarn slip stitch the squares together.

WORKING THE BOTTOM PIECE:
Note: remember to turn your square piece around so that you are working on the bottom! This is the small piece at the bottom of the front of the bag 🙂
ROW 1: Join yarn into the first corner – work up 64 SC along the squares edge.
Work at least 1 SC in-between each square in the join. (See Photo)
Note – if you had to work an extra round(s) on your squares to bring to size – add 2 SC per square for each round you have added – exp:
*1 round= 2 SC; 3 squares = 6 SC (work up 70 SC)
*2 rounds = 4 SC; 3 squares = 12 SC (work up 76 SC)

Repeat from * until last ST, work 1 HDC into last ST.
