Basic stitches, simple shaping and finishing.
Concentration required.

Yarn: Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3 : Light – I used cotton yarn – check the main introduction page!

Hook: 4,00 mm (G)

Size: 23 cm x 23 cm (approx. 9 inches)

Tension/Gauge is not necessary for this project to be perfect

I use US Crochet stitch terminology

Abbreviations:
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet
HDC – half double crochet
DC – double crochet
TR – treble crochet
BLP – back loop

SPECIAL STITCHES:

Clusters – 3DCtog – 3 double crochet together – into same space or stitch.

FPDC – Front post double crochet

Colors: – the colors in () are the old colors for those continuing in the first color sequence

• Natural – color A (B)
• Seafoam – color B (E/A)
• Pomegranate – color C (D)
• Fern – color D (F/G)
• Taupe – color E (C)

INSTRUCTIONS:

With Color A

CH 8; SL ST into first CH to form a ring

RND 1: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work 2DCtog; CH 2.
*Work Cluster; CH 2.** Repeat from * to ** 6 more times.
SL ST into top of 2DCtog.
(8 x Clusters)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

With color D; join into any 2 CH space

RND 2: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [2DCtog; CH 2; Cluster] into same 2 CH space; CH 1; work Cluster into next 2 CH space; CH 1.
*Work [Cluster; CH 2; Cluster] into next 2 CH space; CH 1; work Cluster into next 2 CH space; CH 1.**
Repeat from * to ** 2 more times; SL ST into top of the 2DCtog.
(4 x Corner Cluster Sets – [Cluster; 2 CH; Cluster]; 4 x Clusters)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

With color C; join into any 2 CH corner space;

RND 3: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [2DCtog; CH 3; Cluster] into same 2 CH space; CH 3; work FPDC around next Cluster; CH 3.
*Work [Cluster; CH 3; Cluster] into next 2 CH space; CH 3; work FPDC around next Cluster; CH 3.**
Repeat from * to ** 2 more times. SL ST into 3rd of 3 CH.
(4 x Cluster Corners; 4 x FPDC; 8 x 3 CH spaces – not including corners)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

With color E; join into any 3 CH corner space.

RND 4: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC); work [2DCtog; CH 3; Cluster] into same 3 CH space; CH 1; work FPDC around next Cluster; CH 1; work Cluster into next 3 CH space; CH 1; work FPDC around next FPDC; CH 1; work Cluster into next 3 CH space; CH 1; work FPDC around next Cluster; CH 1.

work 1 DC into next FPDC; CH 4; SKIP next 2 FPDC; work 1 DC into next FPDC; CH 4; SKIP next 2 FPDC;
