INSTRUCTIONS

Joining The Squares:
I used the Mattress Stitch/ Woven Seam to join my four bug squares together, with a slight pull after each stitch to give is a slight zigzag effect.

Place the pieces to be joined side by side on a flat surface, right sides up and edges together. Thread a large, blunt-ended yarn needle with yarn. Starting at the bottom and working from right to left, place the needle under the loop of the first stitch on both pieces and draw the yarn through. Move up one stitch and repeat this process, going from left to right. Continue to zigzag loosely from edge to edge. Pull the yarn tight every few centimeters, allowing the edges to join together.

Single Crochet Border:
This is the first part of the border for the blanket – Part two will be shown with the final Part six of this CAL.

Starting at the 3rd stitch on any corner:
Rnd 1: Join yellow yarn with a SC, *work 1 SC into each ST until corner, work 2 SC, 2 CH, 2 SC into each corner*, continue from * to * until end, join with SL ST into first SC made.
Change color to cream
Rnd 2: *Work 1 SC into each ST until corner, work 2 SC, 2 CH, 2 SC into each corner*, continue from * to * until end, join with SL ST into first SC made.
Change color to blue
Rnd 3: repeat round 2

Change color to pink
Rnd 4: repeat round 2
Change color to green
Rnd 5: repeat round 2
Fasten off and weave in all ends.
