Abbreviations: US Terminology
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop
RS – Right side
WS – Wrong side

Instructions:
The Diningroom
Yarns: scraps of double knitting/light worsted yarn in assorted colors (from 2 yards to 50 yards) – pink, blue, green, yellow, purple, and white.
Hooks & Notions:
- Size 3.50 mm Hook
- Yarn Needle
- Stitch Marker
- Large Press Button (Snap Fastener)
- 8 x Buttons Assorted
- Needle and Thread
PROJECT NOTES:
If you are using the pages double-sided – This page is worked on the backside of the Front yard.
Use your own embellishments to decorate your page – the only limit is your imagination!
Dining Table & Chair:
Tabletop:
With pink yarn, CH4
Rnd 1: Work 11 DC into 4th CH from hook (12 DC)
Rnd 2: SL ST into 3rd of beginning CH, CH 3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same ST. Work 2 DC into each ST until end, SL ST into top of 3 CH (24 DC)
Rnd 3: CH3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same ST, work 1 DC into next ST. *Work 2 DC into next ST, work 1 DC into next ST. ** Repeat from * to ** 5 more times.
Work 2 HDC into next ST, work 1 HDC into next ST.
Work 2 HDC into next ST, work 1 HDC into next ST.
Work 2 SC into next ST, work 1 SC into next ST.
Work 2 SC into next ST, work 1 SC into next ST.
Work 2 HDC into next ST, work 1 HDC into next ST.
Work 2 HDC into next ST, work 1 HDC into next ST. SL ST into top of 3CH (36 STS)
Rnd 4: CH2 (counts as 1 HDC), work 1 HDC into same ST, work 1 HDC into next 2 STS.
*Work 2 DC into next ST, work 1 DC into next 2 STS. ** Repeat from * to ** 3 more times.
Work 2 HDC into next ST, work 1 HDC into next 2 STS.
Work 2 HDC into next ST, work 1 HDC into next 2 STS.
*Work 2 SC into next ST, work 1 SC into next 2 STS. ** Repeat from *to ** once more.
Work 2 HDC into next ST, work 1 HDC into next 2 STS
Work 2 HDC into next ST, work 1 HDC into next 2 STS. SL ST into top of 2 CH (48 STS)
Rnd 5: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same ST, work 1 DC into next 3 STS.
*Work 2 DC into next ST, work 1 DC into next 3 STS. ** Repeat from * to ** until end of round. SL ST into top of 3 CH. Fasten off and weave in ends. (60 STS)
Table Bottom:
With pink yarn, CH32
Row 1: CH3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into each CH until end (30 DC), turn.
Row 2: work in front loops only, CH3, work 1 DC into same ST, work 1 DC into each ST until end, work 2 DC into top of 3 CH (32 DC), turn.
Row 3: CH3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into each ST until end (32 DC), turn.
Row 4: work in front loops only, CH3, work 1 DC into same ST, work 1 DC into each ST until end, work 2 DC into top of 3 CH (34 DC), turn.
Row 5: CH3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into each ST until end (34 DC).
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Starting at the first loop of the bottom row – Work 4 TR into each loop.
The 2nd and 3rd loop rows – Work 3 DC into each loop. Fasten off and weave in ends.
SC tabletop and table bottom together, then SL ST them together.
Chair:
With pink yarn, CH6, SL ST into first CH to form a ring.
Rnd 1: CH3 (counts as 1 DC), work 2 DC into ring, CH3.
*Work 3 DC into ring, CH 3. ** Repeat from * to ** twice.
SL ST into top of 3CH – change color (green)
Rnd 2: Working into a 3 CH space – CH4 (counts as 1 TR),
work 2 TR into same space, CH 3, work 3 TR into space.
*CH1, work 3 TR, 3 CH, 3 TR into next 3 CH space. **
Repeat from * to ** 2 more times. SL ST into top of 4 CH –
change color
Rnd 3: Working into a 3 CH space – CH 3 (counts as 1 DC),
work 2 DC into same space, CH 2, work 3 DC into space.
*Work 3 DC into 1 CH space, work 3 DC, 2CH, 3 DC into next 3 CH space. ** Repeat from * to ** twice. SL ST into top of 3 CH.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Join new yarn into one corner.
Row 1: CH3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into each ST until end of one side, including 1 DC into corner and
1 DC between 3 DC groups, (13 DC), turn.
Row 2 – 4: CH3 (counts as 1 DC, work 1 DC into each ST until end (13 DC), turn.
Fasten off and weave in ends on last row.
With new color yarn SL ST all around chair.
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
Shelf/Cupboard:
With pink yarn, CH16
Row 1: Work 1 SC into 2nd CH from hook, work 1 SC into each CH until end (15 SC), turn.
Row 2 – 30: CH1, work 1 SC into each ST until end, (15 SC), turn.
Fasten off and weave in ends on last row.
With purple yarn surface crochet a shelf – SL ST a line across – see photos as guide.
SL ST all around.
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
Decorations:
Flowerpot:
With green yarn CH 5
Row 1: Work 1 SC into 2nd CH from hook, work 1 SC into each CH until end (4 SC), turn.
Row 2: CH1, work 2 SC into first SC, work 1 SC into next 2 SC, work 2 SC into last SC (6 SC), turn.
Row 3 – 5: CH1, work 1 SC into each ST until end (6 SC)
SL ST all around.
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
Sew flowerpot onto shelf with yarn needle, optional – make 4 small straight stitches for flower buttons on top of pot. Sew 3/ 4 flower buttons over the small stitches.
Teapot:
With pink yarn CH 5
Row 1: Work 1 SC into 2nd CH from hook (4 SC), turn.
Row 2: CH1, work 2 SC into first SC, work 1 SC into next 2 SC,
work 2 SC into last SC (6 SC), turn.
Row 3 – 5: CH1, work 1 SC into each ST until end. (6 SC)
Row 6: CH1, SC2tog, work 1 SC into next 2 SC, SC2tog. (4 SC)
Note: continue working in the round
SL ST into the first row, CH8 (handle), skip 2rows, SL ST into next row,
SL ST all along bottom, SL ST into 3 rows, CH6 (spout), work 1 SC into 2nd CH from hook, work 1 SC into next 3 STS, skip 1 row, SL ST into next row, SL ST along top, SL ST into first SL ST worked.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Sew a button as decor onto pot. Attach one part of a press button (snap fastener) to the backside of the teapot and the other to the shelf.
Painting:
With purple yarn, CH21
Row 1: Work 1 SC into 2nd CH from hook, work 1 SC into
each CH until end (20 SC), turn.
Row 2 – 12: CH1, work 1 SC into each ST until end, turn.
Fasten off and weave in ends after last row.
With new yarn (green) SL ST all around.
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
Decorations:
House:
With pink yarn CH 6
Row 1: Work 1 SC into 2nd CH from hook, work 1 SC into
each ST until end, (5 SC) turn.
Row 2 – 5: CH1, work 1 SC into each ST until end (5 SC), turn.
join new yarn (blue)
Row 6 – 7: CH1, work 1 SC into each ST until end, (5 SC), turn.
Row 8: CH1, SC2tog, work 1 SC into next ST, SC2tog (3 SC), turn
Row 9: SC3tog. Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
Sew onto painting.
I sewed on a small yellow button as a Sun, with a few straight stitches. Added a door with some green yarn and sewed on 3 small flower buttons.
Whipstitch (sew) all the pieces into place
