My Crochet Dollhouse Playbook Part Eight

PATTERN SUPPORT

CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop

Instructions:

The Backyard

Yarns: scraps of double knitting/light worsted yarn in brown, blue, yellow, green, beige and cream/white (from 2 yards to 50 yards)

Hooks & Notions:

  • Size 3.50 mm Hook
  • Yarn Needle
  • Stitch Marker
  • Blue Ribbon Strips
  • An assortment of buttons (optional) – I used 6 very small buttons for the tree and a Ball shaped button for the doghouse.
  • Needle and Thread

This page is worked on a new page. Use your own embellishments to decorate your page – the only limit is your imagination!

Swimming Pool:

With yarn, make a magic ring
Rnd 1: CH3 (counts as 1 DC), work 11 DC into ring, SL ST into top of 3rd Ch of 3CH. (12 DC)
Rnd 2: CH3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same ST, work 2 DC into each ST, SL ST into top of 3rd Ch of 3CH. (24 DC)
Rnd 3: CH3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same ST, work 1 DC into next ST. *Work 2 DC into next ST, work 1 DC into next ST. Repeat from * until end, SL ST into top of 3rd Ch of 3CH. (36 DC)
Rnd 4: CH3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same ST, work 1 DC into next 2 STS. *Work 2 DC into next ST, work 1 DC into next 2 STS. ** Repeat from *to ** until end, SL ST into top of 3rd Ch of 3CH. (48 DC)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Join yellow yarn with a SC into and Front loop of round 4.

Rnd 5:  Work 1 SC into each Front loop all around, SL ST into first SC, turn.
Rnd 6: *Work 3 SC into next SC, SL ST into next SC. Repeat from * all around. SL ST into first SC.
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.

Attach/Sew pool onto page. (Use main photo as guide)

Tree:

Bark – 

With yarn, CH 25

Row 1: Work 1 SC into 2nd CH from hook,
work 1 SC into each ST until end (24 SC), turn.
Row 2 – 4: CH1, work 1 SC into each ST until end (24 SC), turn.
Row 5: CH1, work 1 SC into the next 15 STS,
work 1 HDC into next 2 STS, work 1DC into next 3 STS,
work 1 TR into next 4 STS.
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.

Attach/Sew bark to the side of the page – (Use main photo as guide)

Tree Top – (Make 3 parts)

With yarn, make a magic ring.

Part One:

Row 1: CH3 (counts as 1 DC), work 5 DC into ring (6 DC), turn.
Row 2: CH3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same ST, work 2 DC into each ST (12 DC).
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.

Part Two:

Row 1: CH3 (counts as 1 DC), work 5 DC into ring (6 DC), turn.
Row 2: CH3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same ST, work 2 DC into each ST (12 DC), turn.

Row 3: CH3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same ST, work 1 DC into next ST. *Work 2 DC into next ST, work 1 DC into next ST** Repeat from * to ** until end. (18 DC)
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.

Part Three:

Row 1: CH3 (counts as 1 DC), work 5 DC into ring (6 DC), turn.
Row 2: CH3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same ST, work 2 DC into each ST (12 DC), turn.
Row 3: CH3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same ST, work 1 DC into next ST. *Work 2 DC into next ST, work 1 DC into next ST. ** Repeat from * to ** until end (18 DC), turn.
Row 4: CH3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same ST, work 1 DC into next 2 STS. *Work 2 DC into next ST, work 1 DC into next 2 STS. ** Repeat from * to ** until end (24 DC).
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.

Attach/Sew part 2 first, then part 1, then part 3. (Use photos as guide)

Sew some small buttons onto the treetop.

Doghouse:

With yarn, CH 16

Row 1: Work 1 SC into 2nd CH from hook, work 1 SC into each CH until end (15 SC), turn.
Row 2: CH1, work 1 SC into next 4 STS only, turn.
Row 3 – 8: CH1, work 1 SC into each ST (4 SC), turn. Fasten off after last row.

Rejoin yarn into 4th stitch as shown in photo.

Row 1: CH1, work 1 SC into each ST, (4 SC), turn.
Row 2 – 7: CH1, work 1 SC into each ST (4 SC), turn,
Row 8: CH1, work 1 SC into each ST, CH 7, SL ST into opposite ST, fasten off.
Row 9: Rejoin at the start of the CH, work 1 SC into each ST (7 SC), work 1 SC into the next 4 SC. (15 SC)
Row 10 – 12: CH1, work 1 SC into each ST, turn (15 SC), fasten off after last row.
Note: If row 9 is too complicated, simply fasten off after row 7
CH 16, work 3 rows in SC (15 SC) and sew this part to the bottom part.

Join brown yarn into first ST of top row:
Row 13: CH1, work 1 SC into each ST until end (15 SC), turn.
Row 14: SC2tog, work 1 SC into next 11 STS, SC2tog (13 SC), turn
Row 15: SC2tog, work 1 SC into next 9 STS, SC2tog (11 SC), turn
Row 16: SC2tog, work 1 SC into next 7 STS, SC2tog (9 SC), turn
Row 17: SC2tog, work 1 SC into next 5 STS, SC2tog (7 SC), turn
Row 18: SC2tog, work 1 SC into next 3 STS, SC2tog (5 SC), turn
Row 19: SC2tog, work 1 SC into next 1 STS, SC2tog (3 SC), turn
Row 20: SC the last 3 STS together (SC3tog), turn SL ST all around dog house.
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.

Sew doghouse onto page, just on the outside. It should form a pocket on the inside.

Cloud: 

With yarn, make a magic ring.

Rnd 1: CH3 (counts as 1 DC), work 11 DC into ring, SL ST into top of 3rd Ch of 3CH. (12 DC)

Rnd 2: CH3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same ST, work 2 DC into each ST, SL ST into top of 3rd Ch of 3CH. (24 DC)

Rnd 3: CH1, work 1 SC into same ST, work 1 HDC into next ST, work 2 DC into next ST, work 2 DC into next ST,
work 1 HDC into next ST, work 1 SC into next 5 STS, work 1 HDC into next ST, work 1 DC and 1 TR into next ST,
work 1 TR and 1 DC into next ST, work 2 DC into next ST, work 1 HDC into next ST,
work 1 SC into next 3 STS, work 2 DC into next ST, work 2 DC into next ST, work 1 SC into next 3 STS,
SL ST into next ST and then SL ST all around. Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
Attach some blue-ribbon strips to one side and sew onto page.

Whipstitch (sew) all the pieces into place.

The Puppy: Make 2

With yarn, make a magic ring. Use a stitch marker to keep track of your rounds.

Rnd 1: Work 6 SC into ring.
Rnd 2: Work 2 SC into each SC. (12 SC)
Rnd 3:
 Work 2 SC into first SC, work 1 SC into next SC. *Work 2 SC into next SC, work 1 SC into next SC. Repeat from * until end of round. (18 SC)
Row 4:
Work 1 SC into next 3 STS, SL ST into the next ST, TURN.
Row 5:
CH1, SKIP the SL ST, work 1 SC into next 3 STS, SL ST into the next ST, TURN.
Row 6: CH1, SKIP the SL ST, work 1 SC into next 2 STS, SL ST into next, TURN.
Row 7: DO NOT CH1, work 2 SC into next 2 STS, TURN.
Row 8: CH1, work 2 SC into next ST, work 1 SC into next 2 SC, work 2 SC into next ST, TURN. (6 SC)
Row 9: CH1, work 2 SC into next ST, work 1 SC into next 4 STS, work 2 SC into next ST, TURN. (8 SC)
Row 10-11: CH1, work 1 SC into each ST (8 SC), TURN.
Row 12:
DO NOT CH1, SC2tog, work 1 SC into next 4 STS, SC2tog (6 SC), TURN.
Row 13:
DO NOT CH1, SC2tog, work 1 SC into next 2 STS, SC2tog. (4 SC)
Row 14:
DO NOT CH1, SC2tog twice.

DO NOT TURNcontinue working in the round. SL ST all around until head – Do this for one side only!

SL ST into a few STS then CH 5, work 1 SC into 3rd CH from hook, work 1 SC into next, work 1 HDC into next 2 STS, (ear made) SKIP A ST, SL ST into next ST, SL ST into a few STS, repeat ear instructions, SL ST all around. Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.

The Tail:

  • CH 12
  • Work 4 SC into 2nd CH from hook, work 4 SC into each CH until end, fasten off and leave a tail for sewing to body.
  • Using the whip-stitch method, sew the two doggie pieces together, using the outer loops of the SL ST stitches made all around the puppy.
