Abbreviations: US Terminology
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop
RS – Right side
WS – Wrong side

Instructions:
The Page:
Size: approx. Size – 27 cm (length) x 33 cm (width)
Yarns: approx. 50 grams in dark green
Hooks & Notions:
- Size 4.00 mm Hook
- Yarn Needle
PROJECT NOTES:
The only thing important here is to make sure your pages are all the same size!
Optional – Make 4 pages and do each page on its own, then when assembling the book add a sheet of plastic in-between for extra sturdiness!
The Page Pattern: (Make Two)
The pages are worked double-sided – pages can be worked on their own page, then 4 are required.
CH 51
Row 1: Work 1SC into 2nd CH from hook, work 1 SC into each CH until end (50 SC), turn.
Row 2 – 49: CH1, work 1 SC into each ST until end (50 SC), turn.
Fasten off after the last row and weave in ends.
NOTE: if you prefer you can make 4 pages and do each section separate.
The 2 inside pages match each other and ‘form’ one ‘big’ page 🙂
PART ONE:
Yarns: -scraps of double knitting/light worsted yarn in assorted colors (from 2 yards to 50 yards) – dark brown, light green, white/cream, light blue and golden brown
Hooks & Notions:
-Size 3.50 mm Hook
-Yarn Needle
-Stitch Marker
– small amount of Fiberfill/Toy Stuffing
– 4 x 2 cm ribbon approx 10 cm in length
– 4 x round buttons
– a pair of sticky eyes (or any eyes you would like to use)
– Thread & Needle
INSTRUCTIONS:



Fasten off and weave in ends.






Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing, weave in all other ends.




Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing , weave in all other ends.







Place the tree bark on the left hand side of your page and stitch into position.



The leaves should be able to curl inward – this is to provide some interaction for the leaves 🙂



This will cause the nest to form a bucket shape 🙂








Repeat from * 2 more timesNote on the last fin – only SL ST into 2 STS to end!
SL ST into the remaining STS.

TAIL AND HEAD 🙂












First one side – sew the 5th stitch, then the remaining 4 stitches on the other side.



The Legs:


with a flame – then with some thread I stitched each ‘leg’ into place on the bottom of the
