SCRAPALICIOUS SCARF PART THREE

 
Requirements:

Yarn – I used small amounts of double knitting/light worsted yarn in various colors and small amounts of 4 ply
Hook – For the double knitting/light worsted I used a 4, 00 mm hook & for the 4 ply a 3,50 mm hook

Please note you can use any yarn for this project – chunky or stiff yarn is NOT recommended

GAUGE:
Tension/Gauge is not necessary for this project to be perfect.

PART THREE:

Sewing The Pieces Together:
This is a photo tutorial of how I stitched my pieces together 🙂

Granny Stripe Middle Piece:

Instructions:
US TERMS

ROW 1: Join yarn with a SC into the corner of the piece as shown in photo – CH4, SC into next space between stitches, CH4, SC into next space between stitches, CH4, SC into corner

 

CH4, SC around stitch between two petals, CH4, SC  into corner of small square,
CH4, SC into the middle of small square, CH4, SC into corner of small square
Note: There will be 7 4CH loops TURN

 

ROW 2: CH1, work 1 SC into first SC of previous row, work 3 SC into 4CH space.
*Work 1 SC into next SC, work 3 SC into 4CH space. Repeat from until end of row, ending with 1 SC into last SC, TURN

 

ROW 3: CH3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into each SC from previous row (29 DC), TURN Change color

 

ROW 4: CH3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same stitch, SKIP 1 DC, work 3 DC into next ST,
*SKIP 3 DC, work 3 DC into next ST. Repeat from * until last 2 STS,
SKIP 1 ST, work 2 DC into last ST, TURN. Change color

 

ROW 5: CH3 (counts as 1 DC), work 3 DC into next space between STS of previous row,
*work 3 DC into each space between STS of previous row. Repeat from * until end, work 1 DC into top of turning CH, TURN Change color

 

ROW 6: CH3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into same ST as 3CH, work 3 DC into next space between STS of previous row, *work 3 DC into each space between STS of previous row. Repeat from * until end, work 1 DC into top of turning CH, TURN Change color
Repeat rows 5 & 6  four more times

 

 

 

Fasten off and weave in ends.
Repeat instructions for the second part of the scarf but stop at the 9th row!

 

 

Place the two scarf pieces together – right sides facing upwards.
Row 10: CH3 (counts as 1 DC), SL ST into DC on the first scarf piece opposite.
Work 1 DC into next space in-between STS of previous row, SL ST into 3rd ST of first 3 DC group of first scarf piece, work 2 DC into same space.
*Work 1 DC into next space in-between STS of previous row, SL ST into 3rd ST of next 3 DC group of first scarf piece, work 2 DC into same space. Repeat until end, working a SL ST into last DC of first scarf piece, and 1 DC into the last ST.

 

Fasten off and weave in ends

 

UK TERMS
ROW 1: Join yarn with a DC into the corner of the piece as shown in photo – CH4, DC into next space between stitches, CH4, DC into next space between stitches, CH4, DC into corner
CH4, DC around stitch between two petals, CH4, DC  into corner of small square,
CH4, DC into the middle of small square, CH4, DC into corner of small square

*Work 1 DC into next DC, work 3 DC into 4CH space. Repeat from until end of row, ending with 1 DC into last DC, TURN
ROW 3: CH3 (counts as 1 TR), work 1 TR into each DC from previous row (29 TR) Change color
ROW 4: CH3 (counts as 1 TR), work 1 TR into same stitch, SKIP 1 TR, work 3 TR into next ST,
*SKIP 3 TR, work 3 TR into next ST. Repeat from * until last 2 STS,
SKIP 1 ST, work 2 TR into last ST. TURN Change color
ROW 5: CH3 (counts as 1 TR), work 3 TR into next space between STS of previous row,
*work 3 TR into each space between STS of previous row. Repeat from * until end, work 1 TR into top of turning CH, TURN Change color
ROW 6: CH3 (counts as 1 TR), work 1 TR into same ST as 3CH, work 3 TR into next space between STS of previous row, *work 3 TR into each space between STS of previous row. Repeat from * until end, work 1 TR into top of turning CH, TURN Change color
Repeat rows 5 & 6  four more times

  2. I feel like I am overthinking this. Are we turning our work after every row in the granny stripe portion? On row
    4, it doesn't say to turn, but I feel like I should.
