Abbreviations: US Terminology
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop
RS – Right side
WS – Wrong side

The Page:
Instructions:
CH 51
Row 1: Work 1 SC into 2nd CH from hook, work 1 SC into each CH until end (50 SC), turn
Row 2 – 49: CH1, work 1 SC into each ST until end (50 SC), turn. Fasten off after last row and weave in ends.

NOTE: if you prefer you can make 6 pages and do each section separate.
PART ONE:
Instructions:
2 x blue; 2 x aqua; 2 x white or cream
[SKIP next ST, work 1 DC into next ST] repeat 5 x
SKIP next ST, work 2 DC into next 6 STS,
[SKIP 1 ST, work 1 DC into next ST] repeat 5 x
SKIP next ST, work 2 DC into next 3 STS, TURN
ROW 2: CH 1, work 1 SC into each ST until end (34 SC), TURN
ROW 3: Repeat row 1
ROW 4: Repeat row 2
ROW 5: Repeat row 1
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing
Bottom:
With dark blue or black yarn
Windows: (Make two)
RND 1: Work 6 SC into ring
RND 2: Work 2 SC into each SC (12 SC)
RND 3: SL ST into each ST all around
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing
Tower:
With blue yarn
ROW 2: CH 1, work 1 SC into each ST until end, (14 SC), TURN
With red yarn
Make a magic ring
With dark blue/black yarn
Make a magic ring

if making for very small children – it is best to sew on!
The ribbon should form little ‘pull tabs‘ on each end
These are some craft buttons I had (actually my daughters!)
They fit the theme and she wanted to add them.
These are really NOT necessary but I add them for inspiration.

You do need to chain only 37 – you SKIP sts in the pattern to form the wave. I have bolded the SKIP STS parts to make it more clear.
After the first row is worked you should have only 34 DC.

we have to chain 42 not 37 (wave pockets)
Hi Sharon 🙂 No you leave the top part open! They are called 'wave pockets' for a reason!
I am in love with this so far!! My only question is, when sewing on the waves, do I stitch the top of them down or are they left open like a pocket?! Thank you for sharing this adorable pattern!
